As an ex IT professional it never ceases to amaze me how many people don't realize your ISP knows you and whether you use a VPN...just not what you are up to. In most every case, every one or every server can tell you are using a VPN simply by your IP address history...gamers especially. I decided a long time ago that I only need a VPN to access apps with geo-restrictions. Otherwise I have nothing to hide or any info that is much good to anyone other than Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and I stopped using all those a long time ago when they showed their dark underbellies. Thanks Tech doctor!
A few weeks ago I did factory reset of my Firestick. My VPN (ipvanish) quit working a couple of days ago after the reset. But reset had nothing to do with VPN stopped working. My ISP may have throttled me. I recall your advice to modify the protocol/port. My VPN started working again after I adjusted the protocol/port. 🤷 I am no expert though. 🙄
Thanks, TD, for the informative video on VPN. I used to have ipvanish, but I was disappointed when it did not work with BBC player when I switched to a UK server, and the speed through that VPN was not very good. As a result, I did not renew them. As for using VPN for every application, I do not have to hide anything unless I use the k and w app, even with the debrid services.
I use k , express vpn and RD. All streaming via windows pc or nuc type. On one of the minis my speeds actually increase but only connecting to a certain country. I’m also Ethernet hardwired whole house. Mostly because I’m an electrician and as rooms were redone and new wires were being brought up anyway i future proofed not knowing what rooms would become offices or homework. WiFi here too unstable. 800 up to 970 over Ethernet and could be 60 or 600 WiFi. At any given point.
Some vpn have split tunneling in reverse so it's tick to enable that app, also you forgot to mention that an ip can leak if you enable the VPN after the fact so if your gonna use a VPN enable it beforehand so there's no trace what so ever for safety.
My isp been sending me the stupid torrenting abuse letters with the titles of what im downloading even through vpns now , how the hell they doing it ? ive been at a loss for 2 months...

I use the hidden router which is a vpn router so no processing power needed on my device. Hardly any speed loss.
Great info mate 👍
Thanks, again Doc. I think your description above is for one of your previous videos, about data leaks with a vpn. Peace.

I always use a VPN.
💯
So, put your name, address, and bank details onto your VPN
No flaw there
Huh
Big deal they can see if you've logged a vpn..VPN... click bait QnA video.
It’s not a big deal but it’s helping people understand that your isp is not oblivious you’re using a VPN.
