Excellent Michelle. Glad you found the video helpful. I’m sure your husband will love the notebook! My wife got mine for me as well and I use it regularly!
Is there a limit to the number of smart books that can be used? I’ve seen a book 1, book 2 and a red version - can we buy x2 book ones without it over writing?
Yes. The pen works with normal paper, however, it will not transcribe and record notes taken on normal paper. In order to use the software and transcription, you will need to purchase the Moleskin Notebooks which have the grid dots. Im sure there is a workaround.
@@ChrisLoh well moleskine sells it as smart notebook not a smart pen when in reality it's all pen's game , so it's kinda fraud to customers by moleskin when they sells notebook as "smart" when it's only pen quality or pen product. It's not I'm angry over your video it's I'm angry over fradualent kinda product makers which eventually fools the consumers badly
@@amangadpale9284 No issues. I understand where you are coming from. Im not sure they market it as a smart notebook though. They market it as a Smart Writing System bringing paper and digital together. I will test out Livescribe though and compare to see which one is better - especially since Livescribe is a little cheaper in price. Thanks for the recommendation for comparison
Yes it does. There is a feature and options for it to convert your handwritten notes to type. It's also pretty accurate - not perfect, but not bad at all.
@@janetshulenberger7435 I dont see that font, however, you can export your transcripted document to other applications like Word and use your personalized fonts
The allure is to be able to digitize your notes and convert them to documents you can use in MS Word, Powerpoint, etc. With a picture you can't copy, paste, and edit your notes on a PC or smartphone and make it easily transferable. It's definitely not for everyone, but for some, has beneficial use cases.
Got this for my husband for Christmas and your video was very helpful in learning how to set it up and use it. Thanks for the very clear instructions.

Thank you, I just discovered this product and we're testing it prior to a big trade show. Your video will be so useful for the team!
Thank you so much for making this video, it really helped me to pick a new journal. Your instructions are so clear and useful!
Camila Lira Olivares glad the video was helpful. I’m still using the notebook today. Thanks for the support.
can you use the notebook without the app turned on and still able to record off-line? thanks in advanced
What a Brilliant review. It was clear and concise and above all easy to follow. THANK YOU
Thanks for the great feedback!
Nice unboxing. Can you use this device on the new Moleskine Notes app?
This is exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks For the review!
Does it require the notes app on while you write? if so its not that great a device tbh!
Its only required to be on if you want to dictate it and record what you write to the app, otherwise it's just another pen and notebook with paper.
If your pen runs out of power, are you able to keep using the notebook and scan the page later?
unfortunately, i dont think so.
Great explanation!

You can have as many notebooks as you want actually. Storing the data though depends on how much memory and cloud space you have
Thank you for this nice in depth review
Thanks for the support

Excellent job
Thank you for the video, it's a great help!
Thank You for the support!
How much memory space does the moleskin app has?
The pen has about 90MB of internal memory and can store about 1000 pages of information.
What's the point if the pen is everything, you can simply use livescribe
They are both essentially the same. I haven't used Livescribe so I can't tell you which is better.

How is it writing in non-Roman alphabet languages?
They work well. You have the ability to choose your language during the setup.
@@ChrisLoh Thanks so much for the video. It helps in whether or not to buy this system, and makes things much clearer.
@@ursulinekairson4372 Thanks. Glad it was helpful
How long does the pen battery last?
The pen is rechargeable and lasts about 4-5 hours per charge.
Question as a writer: does it offer a way to transfer hand writing into type?
Yes it does. There is a feature and options for it to convert your handwritten notes to type. It's also pretty accurate - not perfect, but not bad at all.
@@ChrisLoh After converting to text can you change the font?
@@janetshulenberger7435 Yes. You can highlight and select whichever font you like
@@ChrisLoh Are there many choices of fonts? I need the Dyslexia font.

Hi Chris, is the paper reusable?
Unfortunately the paper is not reusable. You can buy new notebooks at most bookstores and they are fairly inexpensive.
@@ChrisLoh Okay. Thank you for your fast reply!
Why not just take pictures of you notes? Now, you have to purchase ink and special notebooks, seems a bit
unnecessary to me.
