To prosper you have to occupy every possible niche but you are right factories, manufacturing, research and tech, education, agriculture, services etc should be prioritized.
Everyone secures the future in their own way. The common denominator to a stable future is if we are healthy and sport is a huge part of making sure that is the case. Moreover, it would be a narrow mindset to think that most of Africans should be working in farms and factories as if there are not a plethora of fields where people can make a living while contributing to a better tomorrow for everyone. People in factories and farms are all just trying to make ends meet for themselves first; SPORT on the other hand brings a smile and a healthy body.

Once a nation becomes richer and more prosperous, it will be able to dedicate more resource to sport and leisure. Right now Africa can't afford to think in term of sport and entertainment. Emphasis should be on food security, infrastructure, manufacturing, defense and internal security and training of skilled individuals as well tertiary education for more advanced professions. Africa should follow the examples of Asia not America. Hard work and smart work.
