Perfect!!! thank you very much. No hand brake tonight on my ducato.Went under the vehicule and saw where was the problem,exactly where you are here.And your video is the solution .I have to do this!! Tx;
Is the handbrake cable, the first cable that starts from the handbrakehandle suppose to be loose? I mean that it looks like its 3cm too long as you can see in the end of the video. Im fixing my van and im looking for solution but seems to me that you have the same outcome and im wondering if that can be right..? Like you can see the cable beeing loose and see it tightening when you pull the lever... Is that suppose to be so? Seems to me it could just fall right off when not on and you hit a bump or something... i dunno please heelp me... theres no thightening screw at the end of the handbrake lever.. help would be much appreciated
This is a design flaw, and this problem will occur in the hand brake after more than 5 years! That thightening screw at the end of the handbrake lever,16:33 Check that iron rod on the car and you will be understand how to deal with it,very simple And deal with it as soon as possible, it’s a bit dangerous without hand brake. If the first cable rusts,You need to derust or buy new ones! That cable can be repair ,Just Spray rust remover into the cable and need some lubricating oil!
I just bought a Citroen Jumper 2018 campervan. There is way too much travel on the handbrake. There must be a simpler solution than this to just tighten it up. Anyone?
@@fedup3449 16:33 You're welcome! Check that iron rod on the car and you will be understand how to deal with it, And deal with it as soon as possible, it’s a bit dangerous without hand brake.
Due to your Video I don't need to search the problem anymore, thanks! But the way you work and use tools and stuff makes my engineers heart bleed, sorry but that is pure cancer. The way you "cleaned" the fits will cause worse problems very soon and in the end you need to replace the hinge joint. Thanks anyway!
Thanks a lot sir! This is only a cheap, simple and quick repair. Not a perfect fix, The best repair is to replace all of them with new ones,This is a design flaw,And because it is an old car, the owner of the car does not want to pay more money.

Probably best not to use a round file, taking material off, a light polish would suffice.

It’s very simple. Just shorten the screw behind the iron bar in the video.
@@GOAT86STUDIO Thanks but can you give me a time stamp on that. Which bar, please?
