In Halo 2 if I remember right the Brute Shot melee did the same amount of damage as the energy sword but I believe in Halo 3 it was nerfed

And to freakin reload when he gets the time. It triggers me so much when he walks for minutes with 6 shots left in the magazine, and switches weapons wildly so no matter what weapon he starts the fight with, he has to reload after two shots.

To be fair, that's how it goes for a lot of us, especially Legendary (or worse, Laso) when your burning ammo like mad to get threw a fight
I always found it interesting that Arbiter stairs after the marine on the medical gunnery at 27:49 while everyone else is doing something else. Whats going through his head? Guilt? Confusion(depending on what lore you take, Elites may not do medicine that involves blood loss)? Consideration for what he did as a general in new light? Bafflement? Admiration of tenacity?
Id say both the fact hes not used to seeing wounded cared for and guilt for the fact that he most likely put many Marines in similar spots
I've played Halo 3 a million times and never noticed that little detail...this fucking game man.
Elites don’t get medical attention. They’re a war born kind of species that would rather die with honor on the battlefield then to be shamed surviving it.
If I had to guess, confusion given that the Sangeli(I hope I spelt it right)/Elites might not practice medicine like humans do and admiration given that no matter how dire things have gotten for humanity, they're still looking after the ones who cannot continue the fight on their own. If I had to guess, he's forming a new sense of honor due to it all.

@@MULLERTJUH If you watch the developer commentary of Halo: CE, you'll see the lead devs make fun of that line and sarcastically call it the best line in the game, that and "they call it... HALO". Apparently the cave was originally going to look like a natural cave that looked slightly off, but as they changed the level and put in the Forerunner section they weren't able to go back and change that line, Jen Taylor was unavailable.
Remember, you can melee brutes when their shields are down, especially try to get behind them to hit them in the back it's a one hit KO for any brute
Queso Turtle isn’t it a one hit KO for anything, including other players
Be wary of a charging Brute though. They will often win a melee battle.
@@Kodaiva that is true except for hunters. But it is possible to melee hunters to death it just takes a while and alot of dodging.
@@jcoulton4 ya brutes can get crazy in combat the hulk smash of there's I sometimes or all the time it a on hit kill especially don't go any difficulty except for easy because they hammer is one hit kill and even a one hit on easy sometimes

True Chiefs will reload their weapons first and foremost, and not walk from combat to combat with 6 bullets left in the DMR clip.
True chiefs give their allies all the best toys because they don’t worry about ammo. I gave three of the ODST’s in covenant fuel rods.
@@soulstealer5625 Giving an ODST the fuel rod creates something that is beyond comprehendable. This guys become gods of war with those things xD. Also try giving a sniper in H2 when you are in a Warthog just sit back and enjoy the show.
Gave all the marines I saved from the barracks in crows nest battle rifles and carbines lets just say the jump jet brutes didn't have a lot of fun flying-
Load up the passenger Hog from the Scarab mission with either fuel rods or snipers. Just drive well and the 5 gods of death riding a pale Warthog will do the rest.
1. melee more, don't die to a nearly dead brute trying to find a new plasma pistol when you're holding a rifle with a huge knife on it.
2. you kept letting that last brute regenerate its shields, if you just kept attacking it instead of giving it a break all the time you could have killed it with just one magazine.

In heroic and higher unless they are like 1 shot from death melee won't do shit. Or back stabbing. But getting that close to elites/brutes is suicide aT that lvl

Now you've had a taste of the infamous torture that is the Jackal sniper. Be glad this isn't Legendary-- on that, they're a one-hit kill and EVERY Jackal sniper has a beam rifle, not a puny carbine.

not particuraly dangerous, but extremely annoying, they wait to shoot you until you've scoped in, and can't see exactly where the shot comes from, then they fire, and you get descoped

I've been watching your play through since reach and it has been an awesome experience to watch you man! I've been watching your streams specifically, and recently I can't wait to watch you conclude the story of Halo 3. I know you've probably heard a lot of bad about 343 industries but Halo 4 will probably still be enjoyable for you, story wise it is actually good. Halo 5 is shit however so get ready for the most backwards shit ever.
I like how you can actually see the improvement. Drops a bubble shield and peaks headshots in stride. Quick swaps to fire a fuel rod into the phantom then picks off the survivors. How far our boy has come
He's got a long way to go, especially with his precision when it comes to aiming, but he is indeed improving...........I only wish that he put his facecam at the bottom right instead of the top left so that we can actually see his Grenades and Equipment.
Now he only has to learn that he can reload manually before the clip is empty and that melee exists.
It's kind of like reliving childhood, love this series!

fun fact: they actually had practical suits for Brutes and puppet Prophets made for this. They didnt continue because in this short alone they went over budget . Neill Blomkamp was making this but scrapped his halo movie and repurposed alot of the props for District 9

It kills me that he's holding a brute shot, aka, a weapon with a MASSIVE BLADE on the bottom of it, but instead of using it to hit the brute, he swaps to the plasma pistol to try and punch it.
It's not just a punch. It's a *Spartan* punch. Also the bruteshot does only 2 more points of damage when compared to normal melee

Fun fact there was meant to be a Halo movie directed by Neill Blomkamp around the time of Halo 3 but Microsoft pulled the plug for unknown reason so instead he did District 9 as he wanted to do a film about aliens around then, he was so looking forward in doing a Halo Movie

It kind of upsets me that Dee has never experienced the joy of driving a chopper simply because he doesn't experiment, and now he probably never will since 343 doesn't seem to ever want to bring back brute gear besides the hammer.

Also AI does a fine time driving in all games but the first one, and reach somewhat though vehicle segments are limited where you would want them to drive.
Make sure you play that starting scene on different difficulties.

The live-action UNSC stuff is beautiful. It shows just how much the boys and girls in green did to get Master Chief’s re-entry fixated and how much they had to hold out on their own.
I can't put into words how happy this makes me, this game is my childhood. I have so many fond memories with my friends and it's nice to see someone expierence it for the first time.

I admire your spirit man, but if by playing through 3 full Halo games you still consistently don't pay *any* attention to your ammo count, awareness of weapons around you, radar, or basic weapon uses, you really should just play the game on easy or normal 😂
I get you're just having fun and everything, but it honestly makes the games far more enjoyable when you actually understand how the games work at the basic level, especially at higher difficulties.

Cool detail: If you look at the drone feeds in the Landfall video, the top right shows the drone altitude as 15000MSL. If this is in feet as most aviation stuff is, the drone is getting that kind of resoluion on its camera feed from 15000 feet or 5km up in the air.

I've learned something very important while watching Dee go through my favorite series: I'm an asshole XD I just keep thinking, man he sucks! But, I am still having a blast watching him enjoy all that is wonderful and unique to the Halo franchise. Hopefully with some more practice Dee YOU'LL be worthy of giving out more tea bags.

I know you're on heroic, but Crow's Nest is arguably the most well-equipped of all the missions in the game. Don't get me wrong, this playthrough was great, but as a guy who did every game on legendary, I must say: dude, you can't run out of ammo or guns when there are stocked weapon racks all over the base....situational awareness my man. Your playthroughs are great, but ya gotta keep taps on everything going on around you.😅
I was thinking the same things. A friend and I just finished a run with a ton of skulls and I've noted that his ammo efficiency is garbage, he doesn't aim for headshots and he doesn't switch weapons depending on his foe.
