At the end of the day Lee any used car can develop a problem but its the way that problem is handled that counts .

Lee nice honest purchases. I can see why you are buying these cars as others are not interested in doing paint but you can see past that and should make a nice profit when the work is done. A busy man which is good. Appreciate why you cannot put out more videos as you are juggling so many things. Get rid of the cold which seems to be doing the rounds.!!!

Like an i10 - missus had one - everything fits together so neatly despite being a budget car. Had a noise at certain rpm - clutch release bearing spinning - easy fix. Some battery places sell Hankook batteries - Korean, reasonably priced and OE to Hyundai so might be worth a try. Got a local paint/smart repair guy to call on if your painter is stacked? Be interesting to see what interest you get on the Trax while it is sat in the yard awaiting repair. Watch your health.

That colour of blue on the Trax and also the Vauxhall Mokka has a history of lifting off the bodywork, Lee, there are quite a few Mokka owners on the Facebook groups complaining about defective blue paint. Not surprisingly Vauxhall marketed this Blue Colour as their standard no extra charge paint other colours were extra! Very interesting videos and getting better all the time! Looking forward to the next one!

The i10 is ideal for someone that's just passed there test I was given one as a courtesy car why my hyundai kona was in for a service. Ideal car around town don't think I'd like a motorway run in one lol
My daughter's 07 plate Pug 207 which has been in the family previously mine briefly for at least 14 years is the same colour as the Chevy its a brilliant colour i certainly don't remember my late father ever polishing it in over 10 years i didn't have it long enough before giving it to my daughter and she won't have , regardless the shade of blue always looks fantastic. The Chevy when sorted will make a tidy car and just as importantly a tidy profit.
chevy looks like a good deal and prices for painting in the UK look a lot cheaper than in central europe, more or less those figures you mentioned were 50% less. And such tail gate bi color (blue and black) would usually get even more expensive.

As a DIY home mechanic, I think I’d spend about £150ish on a decent intermediate OBD scanner… £340 is still too pricey for me 😔

The Chevrolet, did you notice the dent in the O/S/R quarter by the fuel flap.🤔 Presumably the i10 at that mileage has had a chain on it as the EML wasn't on and the 1.2 lump are known for it. Great video, always enjoy your channel.🙂👍
Yeh noticed the dent & he did put a note on screen about it....easy to miss though the note & the dent
Just replaced a timing chain on an i 10 with 61 k on it,it streched. but no valve damage,around £ 700 seems the usual cost.
Is it really cost effective to spend lots of money on paint and cosmetic issues on old cars ? I, like a lot of old car buyers don't really care about bodywork as long as the car is a reliable runner. I try to buy "Pensioner Specials" which are well maintained but "Battle Scarred" at low prices.

I suspect the gateman is collecting dead badgers, hiding them under the seats of your cars and then parking them in the deepest f*ck off puddles he can find.
Your right you need a decent margin ppl watch videos like yours and know how much you pay for cars and what you do to prep a car most understand and Appreciate the effort unfortunately there will be some that think wrongly imo that car dealers are rip off
my i20 brake censor took two years to fully fail so i could get error code as it always fix self the morning i take car out for service. most most the two years no esp no abs and no traction control but engine off and on it work fine and even the slightest wheel slip so uneven steep corner on gravel one wheel slip it set light on, even bit hard use could trigger it, but the last time was a blast down short duel got to a good speed and slowing down from higher speed light came on and stayed on but one wheel did slip on up hill climb on wet metal drain/grid cover, was a bit annoying as still had 600 miles and cannot reset it as sometimes you get 30 miles or more sometimes within few miles and did not like engine off and on while on the move so most cases just adapted driving for no abs or esp, car sure twitchy it was fun at times but also nerving too esp the mountain passes in winter low temp well below freezing dam / wet roads sometimes you wished you had computer as back up to save you but now learned to drive without computer help it can be lot fun even in small car, but now its fixed abs i feel i could stop faster without did tests same day same temp and conditions without you be on verge slip and grip get most out tyres abs takes time to work out what to do then works well so test ive done i can stop faster but it is an old school abs a little slow but normal driving it seems good, but i still drive as no computer help as another 3 censors still could fail and turn off all the help but just waiting on payment as waiting to change car and £500 for new clutch just spent id rather leave anything else to next owner as car well maintained and new clutch so will get a good car and if the want it to last another 13 years or 100k get chain and tension things changed and have no worry's and that only £350 part plus time toi fit it so around same cost as ive just paid for clutch so not a lot for length time they last but no crazy noises, only if i let off in 1st like getting on to fast busy roundabout at higher rpm but all other gears it seems fine but a lot cars don't like being revved out in 1st so it could just be that but tension are known to fail at around 100-120 k so to save an engine £500-600 is a deal for chain and kit plus fitting

will not touch the 1.4T engine, they all seem to have issues at around 8-10 years old in my experience
I'm sure you'll make some top profit on the Chevrolet after outlaying on the paint and trim and interior Lee m8...Like how you look past the scruffy appearance of a car and work out what u need to outlay against what profit is left in it...Honest and funny as ever Lee so no doubt you will make your money when all the work is done...With the I10 there's always money in them and they are very popular so no worries on that front...

Great video Lee. Our 45k I 10 is sat outside as a non runner. Cut out last week and now won’t start. Replaced coil pack etc . Think the fuel pump ain’t great. No codes read either??? Strange???
Very strange, would be removing the spark plugs and earth them out on the coil / lead to see if you have a spark, or spark plug tester. I have come across a few with crank shaft sensors failing which would cause this. Also check the main fuse to the fuel pump
@@carukchannel new plugs, leads and coil. Had plugs out and sparking. Stinks of fuel now as the fuse for the fuel pump had blown? Thinking fuel pump or cam sensor? Hopefully, my mechanic can sort it otherwise it’ll go for spares and repairs.
I10 is dead! Jumped 4 teeth on the exhaust side. Going to wack it on for spares or repairs! Shame as it was a decent little car, but not worth us paying to get it fixed.
Would seriously consider buying a cheapie off you guys next time we come over to UK rather than hire! One thing Ive been meaning to ask is do you still get on the tools Lee for repairs etc?

Is it necessary to have the bodywork looking perfect? I'd be happy to have a new MOT the engine serviced and any parts such as brakes steering and suspension working over bodywork looking good.
Does not have to be perfect but I do like them presentable, I understand they are old cars but I do like a decent standard. I am lucky to have a great painter which makes it easy for me to sort out vehicles and smart them up
Wary of Chevrolets. My son cannot find anyone to reprogram his fuel system. That is the problem with rare cars.
On the MOT it says possible water pump/head gasket on advisories only 100 mile ago
They a prone to leaking from the coolant housing and run off pipes, also oil coolers. Worse case it could stand a replacement headgasket but we will see what it needs and I will cover in future updates. My intention is to get it running well first before touching the paint
@@carukchannel You're right there Lee, my Dad has a 2015 Mokka 1.6 with around the same miles and it was the run off pipes causing the leaks, my Panda 1.2 had a similar issue with a coolant pipe, you'll know which one.
That i10 is a cracking little car, a good car with plenty of life left in it and for that money a no brainer. The Chevrolet will make a good car for someone when done but not for me, I've driven my Dad's Mokka and I didn't like driving it, car is in perfect order, just don't like the drive.

Those Trax are quite interesting, a subtle tweak of the Mokka, with Chevy's quirky styling of the time. I used to see quite a few on the road as there was a Chevrolet dealer a few miles from me. Looks like it will make a car and these crossover or crossover-esque cars seem to be ever-popular at the moment!

Really annoys me when manufacturesrs can not be bothered to put the handbrake on the right side of the car or at the very least in the middle. Having them next to the passenger is really annoying
They are old cars, 2012 plate was 12 years ago punters pay top whack thinking they are nearly new cars.
I just bought a 2013 Fiat 500 in Yellow for £3 grand the lounge edition , everything is ok apart from 1 major problem ! the Gearbox possibly needs replacing lol hence the low price , car is driving well but theres a chattering sound in 1st and 2nd gears like a grinding noise but it dont affect the acceleration which is odd if its the gearbox? what would you put your money on it being ?

if its grinding going into gear its a synchro issue, however most just whine / chatter in gear normally low gears which require only a partial rebuild. We remove the boxes and send away, partial build £240 full rebuild is £450.

I had a Mokka from new for 7 years, Isuzu diesel 4wd , it did 60+ mpg , never any trouble… and yes US had Chevy Trax and Buick Encore , all same car made in South Korea… another reason I turned towards Hyundai for current car… I get those i10’s at service days.. fabulous 😊

I'm surprised you haven't bought yourself a 2 or 3 car transporter to save yourself time spent picking up cars.
Its having the space to store it and run it, it would require further driving test and running a tacho and OP licence, very expensive and more paper work 😔

i don't get it people spend a lot on a car but live like a tramp. so many cars ive viewed for car im looking for and it must be over 70% stained seats it angers me so much just why they do not deserve to own a car. my car 2011 i20 100k miles and i had people say when they get a lift say do you use the car , my car clean and back seats like new and have rules anyone cannot eat in my car or if kids anything they mark the seats and nothing what stain the seats drink wise if they don't agree they can walk
