Researchers have discovered that honeybees in a laboratory can identify chemicals related to cancer.
DETECT
Researchers at Michigan State University created a method to detect lung cancer using honeybees’ strong sense of smell. When chemicals related to lung cancer are detected, the bees’ nerve cells light up. Researchers hope this will lead to smell-based testing.
To detect is to discover or notice something that is hidden or hard to see, hear or taste.
A detective’s job is to find out what happened in a crime.
