Dr. Evil interviews an extremely talented and PATIENT guitar player.
You can see nicks beard growing.
German humour, it's no laughing matter
Fabián Riquelme iz no laufink mattar
LOL!
I'm german and i agree with you?
@@Mywheel are you asking a question?
i know Im randomly asking but does anybody know a method to log back into an Instagram account?
I was dumb lost my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
I should be practicing right now...
ThaBadayuss ....oh shit ...the real truth. ..ok back to Tim Pierce channel
Me too but i can't stop watching the Kittens!
Thanks so much for this insight. Nick is incredible, and incredibly patient.. This video alone makes me a fan of his playing, gear and his easy going way. Nice.
This was one of the hardest interviews I’ve ever almost made it through. The vicarious embarrassment and anxiety I’m feeling is palpable.
it wasn’t supposed to be an interview
CRINGEYYYYYYYYYYYY
LOL ikr. Sorry eytsch. This was rough
This shit killed me 5:49
What an amazing player - it really doesn't sound "shreddy" at all. Just really interesting. Beautiful sound.
Henning throwing shade at d'addario while the guy was putting the sign up in the background was perfect.
Hahah I love the transparency about his endorsements! Honestly is always appreciated
Nick is such a down to earth guy, could’ve just kept the amp on a table or something in between both of you guys. Instead what you did there not cool man.
Back in the early 80's Schecter was known mostly as a company you bought necks and bodies from. I didn't have one until about 15 years ago, but at least 3 friends of mine had guitars with either the Schecter neck, body or both when I was a kid.
Wow, great tones and playing in this video!
I love listening to Nick talk aboot his guitar :-)
22:20 I counted, it actually was 15. Well done Nick.
Brilliant upload Henning.
NICK you play fantastic bud!! And that guitar sounds great...
What an incredible tone.
Such a light touch too! I'm turning the gain down right now and working on that left hand!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
What about those dislikes? Seriously... trolls? Cuz I really enjoyed this "series" with Henning and Nick. Awesome and fun to watch! :)
haha... I don't get that either...what's not to like... no idea why someone would do that... but hey... let them...
Wasn't me!
František Vtelenský ....I have a theory. ..Somebody (not always me ) makes a stupid comment ...Somebody cool reads it ...and gives them a thumbs down....BUT...thumbs down doesn't register on the comments. ..it registers in the videos collective thumbs up/down tallies....making it look as if viewers were giving the entire video a thumbs down ...when in fact it's just a total count on unliked comments? ....does my theory stand up ?...it works for me.
Sven Horlemann That's what Shaggy said! :D
Corey M It doesn't make sense for me, dude! But U know, we are on UA-cam (Lé YouTáble in French), which doesn't make sense at all also last few months, so maybe at the end, you are right, Sir! :)
Nick johnston is amazing my favorite guitarist hands down. I can tell that Nick has had enough of Dr Evil from halfway to the end, i can tell he wanted to exit stage left🤣
Cant wait till Saturday! Nick is coming to shop near me to do a clinic for MB
I wish that Nick would have talked more about his signature Atomic pickups from Schecter. I was hoping to hear more about why Nick selected AlNiCo V instead of II for his pickups, which is what the pickups he used for years (Duncan Antiquity Texas Hots) have. I understand that he isn't very focused on gear, but I'd like to hear his experienced comparison between his Atomics and the Texas Hots.
Thought Mr J used Friedman on the album?
He deeuud its mostly the brown eye on remarkably human
that poster bit was hilarious!!!!
I wonder if those control knobs would fit on my Indonesian HSS, because the plastic knob is almost impossible to pull up when you want to coil split.
Brilliant guitar!
I really love his music, and gear I have his silver USA signature model. I also just purchased a Seafoam green USA Traditional. I have always been a Strat guy until Nick turned me on to SCHECTER USA CUSTOMS. THEY KILL MY FENDER CS STRATS
This guy is killer. thanks
I have to agree with most people here... It's a nice interview but hey, that's a little to invasive maybe? anyway, great info, fun to watch. I'm really diggin' Nick's playing, love his attitude. Keep it up Nick !
the more seconds pass, the more we can read the exasperation in Nick's eyes.
I do not know but after a while normal people realize that they are boring, not funny, that they interrupt, that they speak too loudly, that they ask unprofessional questions ...
normal people do....
@@EytschPi42 yeah 😅 I'm sorry but there are things to avoid when you interview somebody. I don't like doing personnal attacks, and I don't like to be hidden behind my screen to say things like that... But yep... This video was hard to watch..
@@EytschPi42 i like you henning but Nick here was REALLY exasperated with you.
I´ll visit Nick´s Masterclass and Clinic in 3 days =).
How awesome, enjoy!!
Nick. Anyone who follows guitar players in any serious way, KNOWS who you are. Grow into it, and have a little faith, eh? :O)
i literally only know about nick because i wanted to hear a demo of the seymour duncan pickups he used to use. its like fate
I noticed Nick's guitar buzzes alot, probably from low action but wonder if this is normal for him to have it setup this way.
Henning, have you tried Paradigms yet?, just wondered what you opinion was?
What a fantastic duo...! That's not what she said
You said Schecter a total of 16 times.
Really? you counted this? You know, you should be practicing right now... (see above)
I know I should, but I can't resist the Nick.
That pickup switch is a Hendrix signature to do.
Yeah Henning, you can't tell when someone is annoyed can you...
ask him yourself!
@@EytschPi42 well i hope he wasn't, but it was what it looked like to me.
I followed him back when he won that rob chapman competition can remember what it's called.
halarious unique great interview hahaha wowee
I have a Schecter Guitar Research strat neck from 1979 on my everyday player (on a Peavey strat body, believe it or not) . They've been making S-types for a long time. Also have several other Schecters. 2004 PT Blackjack that's a better Les Paul than any Les Paul I've played (I've owned a LP Custom and a LP Personal (look it up)). I want this wenge neck chocolate mint thing. Gotta have it.
At 2:56 what Mesa boogie amp is that?
Nick Johnston, your cool man.
Loved the series, but wth was with the banner in the back?
28:12 F*CKIN right. Never spew that blasphemy again.
Great video, just discovered Nick's music and really dig Remarkably Human.... Suggested because of Greg Howe.
Thanks again UA-cam. Gorgeous axe btw!!
all good except for that input jack location
Whenever I see that guitar stand (the one in front of Nick on the floor) I think "Why does Henning have a Christbaumständer in his Studio???" (I'm too lazy to look up Christbaumständer. Christmastreestand???)
Haha, let me look it up for you ... there is no such word in English it seems.
But I'm sure your 'Christmas tree stand' would work, or just 'tree stand' could also do it,
just make sure to leave a space between the words, or it becomes gibberish ; )
He is quite skilled
I use string joy strings because I like the people behind the company.
what strap is this?
Thanks Henning. Always enjoy the Channel. Its nice to see y'all have so much fun. Lame is cool.
(It it wrong that I have sweater envy though?...)
The "S" type from the "F", lol!
Takayoshi Ohmura is also another guitarist who switches pickup on the note
I played like that... but crap!!! Then I woke up, It was just a great dream!!!
Nick how the hell did you make it thru this ???? I sure can’t 😵💫
30:48 that simpson meme #EytschPi42 is hilarious
0:22 I thought i hear a mistake but then i realized it's Nick i'm talking about.
He did reach out for that tremolo bar though..
31:42 when you start your car on a sunny afternoon
Utter guitar noob but I love listening to people having a conversation about something they are both into and understand well.
I'm at the stage of do I buy an acoustic and go to lessons or do I buy an amp for my 20+yo ibanez EX and then get lessons :D
Both. And don't forget buying even more guitars and gear! Learning to play is overrated, I cannot do it and I have three acoustics, two electrics, a ukulele and a uku-bass :) buying is fun and good for the economy!
Yeah, I bought the electric one 5-6 years ago and I can play 0.5% better since the first time I touched it. But now I"m more motivated and get less pissed off when my fingers aren't cooperating. Can you mail me one of your acoustics, money is a real issue here :D
Of course yellowishing is a word. How else would you describe the process of something becoming yelowish as opposed to yellow, where it would be yellowing.
20:15 fucking awesome...
i thot nyxls were the best but im telling u i tried gibson pure nickel and for my dsl40 and taste they a far superior and play better. they take out the part of the high end harsh frequencies i didnt like from the dsl40 and ive A Bd them over and over and the pure nickel fukn rule man. the tone is pure squishy. so any1 having some harsh freqs man try the pure nickel. i wanna try the ddarioss. any1 compared ddarios pure nickel to gibsons?
dam hes good to be playing like that with such low gain on the amp
I ship it.
Man this testicle Head interrupts when nick speaks, dude have some integrity man, he was speaking and you’re just playing like c’mon man, even we watching nick talk we don’t know what he was talking cuz you’re just playing on his guitar. Try to give some time or space after someone finishes what they are doing.
testicle head?
man, weren't you taught any manners?
Whoa... he looks like the Shroud of Turin
im playing 1,99€ strings sets from idontknowwho, doing fine
There is a difference between 'doing fine' and 'fuck this is awesome'.
yep, persuading oneself
See, you can score that Mesa combo for $1400 used and in the right hands it sounds as good or better than most people on their 3k Friedman.
Kittens!
Nick and Tom Quayle together!!!
Jesus plays guitar and is awesome at it.
Sir, let nick play not you.
agreed
Hahaha dude at 22 minutes and the dude builds the NYXL promo ahahaha
henning grabs Nick's guitar and proves to the whole world that tone is in the fingers by sounding like SHIT somehow
oh well.... thanks
Check out "Pat Metheny 2018 full interview" by Hawaii public radio. Notice something? Yeah - most of the time that's Pat talking. How about doing an interview where you actually interview the person? I came here wanting to hear from Nick but he was drowned out completely.
love ur humor hate schecter lol
Hennings reminds me of Danish Pete from andertons...very strange indeed
Haha he was told on his own channel to put the advertisement back up.
It was obviously a staged joke.... do you really not get that?
@@EytschPi42 sure, I think you would have edited it out if it wasn't.
I know you have a buttload of followers and you are doing fine without my input...BUT, if you ask your guest a question, could you at least pretend to listen to their answer? I know your style is overly caffeinated and all but....:)
Too loud and not funny. Let Nick play/talk, you might learn something geez.
Nick Johnson looks like guitar Jesus 🎸
a oog
T e C
Guthrie v2.01 beta
Ich würd mir mal nen Weissabgleich aller Kameras wünschen! Danke! ;)
Nicks guitar setup sounds very low....you can hear the string rattle....
what's an a oog T e C?
super gitarrist und Interviewpartner. .. mehr von ihm. schade das ich ihn nicht sehen kann. Alles zu weit weg und schon rum... mist.
I dress my self😊
So is this about Nick or Hennings? Shit man... i love the channel but goooooooodddddddd
+fabrizio peretti it’s neither... it’s is two people chattting about gear... nothing more than that....
A fucking monster player. I find the problem with guys who can play a million notes is that they tend to do it a lot … however when they lay back, they lay too far back to show they can play understated… My fav players tend to be right in the middle, not too flashy, not to laid back.. raw and unprocessed.. Like Jimmy Page, and Blackmore but hey thats just me.. They play fast, but its like 4rth gear not 5th.
that's a 3k guitar...
Instead of thats what she said. Try As the actress said to the bishop .....
omg let your guest talk
i could play for 800 years and never be able to do what this dude does ! i'm 15 on and off years in and still cant do shit !
I would like to have Nick, who I wasn't familiar with before, interviewed about his gear views and not nonsense.
Yellowishing = Parchment
; / THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!! LOL....
