Operation Rajiv | Capturing Siachen's Highest Peak | Battle Ops | Veer by Discovery | ऑपरेशन राजीव

Operation Rajiv was an Indian Army operation to capture the highest peak in the Siachen area in 1987. The Pakistan Army had established a post called the Quaid Post on the top of the strategically located peak, threatening the Indian movement in the area. An Indian task force launched multiple attacks to capture the post. After three unsuccessful attempts, a team led by Naib Subedar Bana Singh captured the post. The peak was renamed Bana Top in honour of Bana Singh, who was awarded India's highest military award Param Vir Chakra for his courage.

ऑपरेशन राजीव 1987 में सियाचिन क्षेत्र में सर्वोच्च शिखर पर कब्जा करने के लिए एक भारतीय सेना के ऑपरेशन थे। पाकिस्तानी सेना ने इस क्षेत्र में भारतीय आंदोलन की धमकी देते हुए रणनीतिक स्थित शिखर के शीर्ष पर क्वैड पोस्ट नामक एक पोस्ट की स्थापना की थी। एक भारतीय टास्क फोर्स ने पोस्ट को कैप्चर करने के लिए कई हमले शुरू किए। तीन असफल प्रयासों के बाद, नाइब सुबेदार के नेतृत्व में एक दल ने पद पर कब्जा कर लिया। चोटी का नाम बाना सिंह के नाम पर बाना टॉप था, जिसे उनके साहस के लिए भारत के सर्वोच्च सैनिक पुरस्कार परम वीर चक्र से सम्मानित किया गया था।
