  • This has been one of the longest dreams I have ever had. Ever since I started cubing, I have always wanted to make a championship finals. After US nationals 2023, I realized that I had the possibility of making a championship final. I grinded a long time for NAC, doing a lot of compsims as home leading up to this competition.
And it payed off. I am very happy to make finals with all of this hard work, and it has been a dream come true.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way. It means a lot.
And lastly, congrats to Ethan Zhuang and Curtis Chai for podiuming at a championship for the first time ever! You all are amazing, and your hard work finally paid off, and you both get to have a championship podium together.

I think we were in the same group for 2x2 r1 cuz I recognize the scrambles. Should have gotten PR average in that round but I locked up.
Edit: semis scrambles were also pretty good, but I did horrible in semis lol.

Ok, so to be sub-2 I’d recommend you learn CLL and EG-1, as well as how to one-look.
If you can’t one-look yet, I’d highly recommend you learn to do so. It’s pretty hard to be sub-2 without it. I have a tutorial on it if you would need.
Practice one-looking until you can consistently one-look in under 15 seconds in inspection.
From there, being sub-2 is mostly about your execution. Make sure your pickups are good, and make sure you are turning at a comfortable pace. What I struggled with when averaging 2.2 was I would rush way too much.
You can turn at around 8 TPS and be sub-2, which isn’t too hard. Just make sure you don’t rush your execution.
That should be enough to be sub-2. You can also learn some other algsets, and make your one-looking better to the point where you can one-look multiple solutions in inspection, but that isn’t necessary to be sub-2.
