I Said it once and I’ll say it again this movie is the closest I’ve ever felt to feeling something in 3 years hands down my favorite movie beyond my own choice

Theodore is so sweet, soft and soulful. I wish I could give him a hug, but that’s me with all Joaquin Phoenix characters including Arthur Fleck.

Hard to believe this movie was 10 years ago! It gets even more relevant every year closer to this technology/society. The crazy thing is that Spike Jonze got the inspiration for the film, from a chatbot conversation he had ~20 years ago. 🤯

to be fair, personal digital assistants were not a new idea with this movie. They've been there for a while. Even in movies, AI has often been portrayed as a digital assitant. Think Hal in Space Odyssey, or Iron Man. But, to really show the depth of a relationship and emotional vulnerability that an AI assistant can show, and how deep a relationship can go as portrayed here was amazing.
Who could have predicted that a man falling in love with his operating system would be one of the greatest romantic films ever made.

It has stolen into my subconsciousness. I watched it and felt nonchalant in the end, but since there has been such a striking contrast to how I feel before and after I watched this movie. It's like I am aware of my loneliness, not like I didn't feel it prior but it's now so alive.

Sometimes I feel it's Western propaganda that has developed throughout the world - that people can truly be happy alone. Then again, I've only been truly single for 7 months now in my adult life (I'm 25). Coming back home alone, practicing my music, playing video games, writing, reading... I can keep distracting myself. Yes, these things do feed my soul but I don't know how I'll live or where I'll go after I lose my closest ones. My family, my little sis, my dog. They're really all I have.
I hope I have something to live for, if not someone, in my later years.
Oh my God, how sad this movie is and how lonely the killer is in this movie. I am sad for Theodore, although I know that the movie is just an act, but in reality, there are many people like Theodore who feel lonely, and I am one of them.

This is one of the most moving films I have ever seen.
Now it feels like a distant dream. Did all of this even happen? Or did I just take a nap and dream I did Her? It feels so far away in my memory yet while it was happening it was 100% vivid, believable and 'real'.

Being alone is the best, loneliness is overwhelming.
The past is in our minds and the future is in our imaginations. Neither is a tangible reality like the present.
We are in the age of digital chatbots that will be like close companions very soon... I'm not sure how to feel about that. It's both good and bad. It'll be best if they help us interact more with other humans, because we start developing romantic feelings towards them. It's gonna be a crazy future!
