Hi Stephen , Congratulations 👍 on two years of UA-cam we love your Blackpool vlogs your honest and bring quality videos to UA-cam. It's such a shame that the mean streets of Blackpool have got worst I dread to think what they will be like in another two years 😩 I don't know what the answer is to the backstreet's, but Blackpool council need to get their act together or Blackpool will become like Morecombe a ghost town. Let's hope things improve as I love Blackpool .
I was in Blackpool on Saturday for a couple of hours. My goodness, promenade aside the place is a dump. So run down. I moved on to Lytham St Annes, what a huge notable difference. You can see where the money is. The other thing I noticed was how quiet Blackpool was at midday, Lytham was bustling.
I started work for North West Gas on Princess St in 1982. Building made way for the new houses 3 or 4 years ago. Used to walk down to the Coliseum for treats at dinner time.
My dad mick coyle was raised on these streets. My mum also grew up in Blackpool but to a different result. My grandma and nana lived in marton until they died. I’ve lived in a very different style of community. I’ll never return to England and I was very sad about this. But now with UA-cam and Facebook I can see and what a difference to my mental state! I feel much better for seeing
So sad to see the state of run down Blackpool. Have so many wonderful childhood memories of family holidays in the sixties and seventies. Thanks for the video.
Great video Stephen! Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary of this super channel. 30k+ subscribers can't be wrong. It's been a pleasure following you all this time, and look forward to being a part of your channel for years to come. Hopefully in the future we will see some exciting changes for Blackpool. Fantastic again Steve, the mean streets of Blackpool. Congratulations on 2years of blogging,I think I've followed you for that long ,'time as gone quickly 'and you do have a lot of followers ,so well done, totally deserved and keep those entertaining videos coming 👏
Another great and damningly truthful vid Stephen. No Judith Chalmers soft focus stuff here. You've set the filter setting to doom...and off you went .Every year I visit the decline worsens. What has happened to Blackpool? This isn't the place I used to know. Surprised the Blackpool Tourist Board haven't put a hit out on you
I used to go in a pub called the Hardwick back in the 90s with my parents and play snooker. I’ve got great childhood memories of Blackpool I’ll always love the place.
Another great video Stephen cannot believe it’s been 2 years and we have followed and enjoyed every minute and are so glad you say you will continue as it brings me my bit of Blackpool to me 🤗 we were lucky to get there this year and was able to meet Chris Higgitts but also wish we could have met you 😁 maybe next time as we hope to get back again later this year! fingers crossed 🤞 so keep up these great videos and thank you so much for doing them we will be waiting for the next one 👍take care 😁 all the best from Pauline from Blackpool living in Canada 🍁

The boarded up building on York Street that you said was a block of flats. Used to be York Cafe, there used to be a pub almost next door called the Prince of Wales but they knocked it down to build the Jaggy Thistle some rubbish bar. I used to work in York Cafe in the summer Holidays from school they were owned by The Hartleys a nice family, they would be devistated if they cold see it now. It's shocking and sad to see what has happened to that area of Blackpool since the early 70's my parents had a guest house on York street from the eaarly 60's to the early 70's those years really were the Golden years of Blackpool.
The IMF loan for furlough came with conditions like face masks and distancing and plastic screens, and many thought sod this we can't afford it, and closed up. So every town across the land has many closed shops and many new employment outfits in readiness for more jobless. The aim is to close all retail outlets except those in the club like Amazon. New rules have to be followed that force the small businesses out. Blackpool will fill with high rise offices and expensive apartments with underground car parking, and the idea of "locals" will disappear.
I remember the steps of doom , wow the Stanley arms looks great another place for my bucket list once I catch up on your videos I’m gonna go back and revisit all my favourites 📺

It’s a great video Sir and I enjoyed the watch. My comments recently were not aimed at your channel. I love the channel as I hope you know. Emotions take over and life can be very cruel. Keep it up Sir
Enjoyed the re visit, love that Tramways office building. Hopefully areas like this will see better days in the future, people make a place good and sadly people make a place bad.
There's a similar, much better Art Deco building on the corner of Waterloo Rd and the prom, south side, that is now very luxurious flats but used to be a Blackpool Transport building. The Lifeboat is a proper Blackpool pub! Cheers for another excellent vid Steve.
Nice interesting vlog of the oldest part, and it has to be said, one of the most run down deprived areas of Blackpool. Curiosity has got the better of me, as a former railway man of twenty five years on the railways, Central Station closed in 1964, was a bingo hall for a while before being demolished in 1974. Had they not closed this important transport link I wonder if the area would still be so run down that it is today, after all it was a main line station. Some say it should have never closed. That area around Blundell Street really is deprived. Even when I watch Chris Higgitt over on Rick’s channel you don’t really get to see too many of the side streets around Chris’s place, but it’s an area in need of redevelopment. Anyway, great two year anniversary vlog Stephen and very interesting. You’ve done well to come this far and congratulations on 34k Subs!👍😉
What have they done to dear old Blackpool, in the late 60's as a teenager went to Blackpool every summer for a week, coach from the Midlands to Rigby Road Coach Park , stayed at boarding house in Crystal Road, the shows I have seen, one of the top Theatres ABC ,the Opera House Winter Gardens , Queens Theatre ,Grand Theatre and shows on the North Pier ,I loved every moment at that time ,went back last Autumn for a few days what a change and I'm afraid to say not all for the best, but I have love for the place so hope to return and hope Blackpool Council will get their act together.
