I just got mine two days ago! I haven't started using it yet...probably tomorrow I will take it around for vlogging. With the older Pocket, I tend to like connecting it to iphone for a larger screen. I saw a video recommending to use tilt lock mode and holding it horizontal to keep it even more stable. thanks for sharing!
@@ActionKid yeah. I think it does work better for me. I do it with the iphone connected, somehow it makes it less obvious that I am filming and looks like I am just looking at my phone :)
This is good for all those creators that want to inspire from the quality of everything you do - like they already did. You are always honest bringing the pros and cons of things you know it works or not so much. That's new to me to see such camera. Glad i been more informed in the tech secrets. Thanks. See you soon!
I just got one for Christmas literally taking vlogging to a whole new level thanks for the video im doing so much research so I can create awesome content
I record with the DJI Pocket .. I bought it and a few weeks later the pocket 2 came out ... right now I'm happy with the one I have, maybe I'll change it later
Thanks Ken. That DJI is quite an amazing lightweight handheld device, camera and wireless mic.! I started, 1995, in video just b4 digital and we lugged Large consumer SVHS cameras and SVHS- A-B roll editing decks. The gear today is awesome good. Thanks for the demonstration Ken.
Great video bro. I purchased mine just a week ago. Would you mind telling me what are the settings do you prefer if you are shooting at night? I noticed that the videos at night at 1080p 60 fps tend to get dark. How do we tackle this?
Which filming setting do you use? FPV, Follow or Tilt Locked? I have the older Osmo Pocket and those were the options, not sure of it is the same with the Pocket 2
Thank you for sharing the video equipment that you use while recording your AMAZING videos :-) I will definetely have this on the top of my list for Santa Claus this year ;-)
Because I seen this video? I decided to check it out in more depth, and liked what I seen, so I bought the combo package for myself as a christmas present, I opened it today, and decided to take my time to understand and learn more, so its thank you Ken because without me seeing your videos? I doubt very much that I would own my own, also because I know your more in the know with tech than I am I trust your honesty, its never too late to start an extra hobby, and im looking forward a LOT to making some videos, MERRY CHRISTMAS KEN, to you, your family, and your followers, I love watching your adventures, I watched the E-Scooter video last night, perfect christmas eve viewing for me, stay safe my friend and thank you again, for demonstrating the DJI
Great video. One thing that you might have mentioned about shooting at 4K 60fps is that It creates a very large file size and can take a very long time to upload and render the video for UA-cam.
Thanks for the vid. I live in Hong Kong and want to start making the same videos. Good to see that one doesn't need much to get started. Will look to start with a 2nd hand Pocket 2 Creator Combo. Cheers
hi. i appreciate your video. do you have tutorial on how to make a walking video discreetly?do you have a special bag so that you dont have to hold it while walking?tnx
I recently started using a Pocket 2, and I have to say that I have been very happy with the fixed lens on the Pocket 2. It is a 20mm lens, and I find that to be very wide. It seems to be the perfect field of view for vlogging. It isn't as wide as a GoPro, but it feels wide enough to me. In fact, I have yet to feel the need to attach the wide angle lens. I haven't even used it.
Oh! Thank you Action Kid for an insightful and informative look at the process you use.....Love to watch all your videos from here in Huntington Beach, CA.....Was wondering exactly how to get started doing that myself... You're the best......Stay safe
Thank you so much. I don’t vlog but want a video camera to record vacations. I couldn’t decide between the go pro 9 and this. I have decided now. Awesome AK
I haven't tried that myself, but my sense is that it wouldn't work in the long run. Technically, you can do it. But I think the gimbal mechanism and the motors are not robust enough for the constant vibration and pounding it would experience on a motorbike. Not to mention the wind. It's just not designed for that. And anything that knocked against the gimbal mechanism while you were riding at high speed (even a beetle or bee or leaf) would probably destroy it. I wouldn't risk it. Better to go with a traditional action cam like a GoPro for that.
I like the GoPro hero series personally. As it’s easy to carry around and doesn’t get wet easily. It’s got a good battery life and really good frame rate. It’s perfect for Florida as it’s quite hot and humid plus the fact water is everywhere, it’s just easier for it to get recovered and cleaned in a second. And it’s allowed on theme park rides is a big plus. The standard video camera handheld is probably a canon or Sony. I carry a fujifilm myself but personal preference you know. But it works well for me and my needs and yes I have a GoPro harness and attachments for when I need them. Audio isn’t my forte but I carry a separate voice recording device with usb ( it came standard with it) as you flip one switch and bam instant usb right there ready for use. Good for making sure you got your sound as sometimes it can get hazy in the back really fast.
That is pretty cool. Do you have to hold the camera up with your arm the entire way or could you attach this to something across your chest - say a strap from a backpack - and let it stabilize and record from there. Your arm must feel like it will fall off after a 30 minute walk.
Excellent question. I also wondered if ActionKid ever felt threatened and was warned by anyone whilst video-shooting. I know of a guy who nearly had his camera smashed by an irate person while he was videoing in the streets of New York City.
How does one do a live streaming show using this device and respond to live chat messages like you do? Do I also need to have my phone with me to do that or can this device do it?
hmmm, it looks like a nice combo camera but i have to say..after watching the short clip, comparing it to my gopro. i still stand by my gopro. neat tech though. and I do like the wireless microphone, but to have that mic combined with my gopro would be a beast. :D
Been watching a lot of walkabout videos lately and wondering how they film it, i was thinking it was a camera strapped to their chest or something. thanks for showing 👍
I’m trying to create walking videos from mexico city. I really appreciate this video. I have a great phone but feel safer with a small camera. Hope I can do as good of a job as you
Sir, do you just walk on walk tour or do you ride on something. The vloggers seems to be faster than just walking and yet able to manage through stairs, steps and go up and down curbs and gutters and most obstacles and some flooding.
I’m starting to run out of external hard disk drive What do you with all the videos you make? Do you start deleting videos since they are already in UA-cam?
How do you edit the video? I have 128 SanDisk memory card and filmed at 4k 60 fps. I only have 20 min of footage and tried importing it to premiere pro and it looks choppy. I just tried to export it and it looks like it is going to take 2 hrs. Should I use InVideo? What do you use? This is my first video and first time uploading and editing. I'm super overwhelmed. Any help?
I returned the Osmo Pocket 1 as I didn’t like the idea of no zoom function. I might consider Osmo pocket 2 as this one have a zoom function! Thank you for the demonstration really helpful!
I have noticed from many video that I still see up and down subtle movements while walking with this camera? Not totally horrible but if there are something one can do, or maybe Gopro with gimbal maybe better with almost no movement noticable?
Hi great video I have question about the 4k 60fps recording time the gopro 8 black if I make 14 minutes of video is cut the video to 3 parts ( 5:20 + 5:20 + 3:20 = 14 minutes 😭 ) if in this camera is cut same or not ?
Yes, the Pocket 2 does the exact same thing. I believe it is a limitation of how memory cards store large files. They can only store 4-gigabyte files maximum. So all cameras have to divide up really big files into chunks.
I'm curious how you get the Pocket 2 camera lens to face forward when you turn it on in with the Power button. How do you do that? I have the Pocket 2, and when I use the Power button, the camera always powers on with the lens facing me. I use the Function button to power on the camera with the lens facing forward: Power button has the lens facing me; Function button has the lens facing forward. But your Pocket 2 seems to work differently. Do you know why that it is? Is it because you are using the older firmware? Or is there a setting in the menu to control this? Thanks for any reply!
There was a change in a past firmware update. Now it functions as you have described. Previous to that, the power button on the side would start it with the camera facing forward.
Man we need more videos like these. Ak can you cover next which video editir you use and make a small tutorial about it.
Never thought I'd be as interested in this channel as I am but I keep coming back.
I just got mine two days ago! I haven't started using it yet...probably tomorrow I will take it around for vlogging. With the older Pocket, I tend to like connecting it to iphone for a larger screen. Awesome! That's a neat trick about the tilt lock mode, I'll have to try it out.
@@ActionKid yeah. I think it does work better for me. I do it with the iphone connected, somehow it makes it less obvious that I am filming and looks like I am just looking at my phone :)

@Sonny Roy thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I really appreciate it!
That DJI pocket 2 combo is very handy, I think I'll buy me one soon
I record with the DJI Pocket .. I bought it and a few weeks later the pocket 2 came out ... right now I'm happy with the one I have, maybe I'll change it later
We should all buy this setup and start our own walking videos in our towns/cities and call ourselves “ActionKids” or “actionkids”.
Thank you! I have this Osmo, I am trying to decide if it's best to shoot in FVP, follow or tilt lock.
This is great! This camera is nice, but I'll probably going to get their Gimble for phones and stuff.. but DJI is definitely a very nice brand!
Their phone gimbal works pretty well too!

Which filming setting do you use? FPV, Follow or Tilt Locked? I have the older Osmo Pocket and those were the options, not sure of it is the same with the Pocket 2
In 95% of the situations I use the default FPV mode. They're the same modes on the Pocket 2.

Hi, did you use 4k60 for the video you shot ? there's a bit of noise. It's supposed to be better in 4K25...did you notice any difference ?
I like it! A great way to live walk in the city!
I love my Dji Pocket 2
Recently purchased this camera and I have to say I love it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Nice simple video tutorial, with pleasantly calm and clear voice. Thanks.
I also bought this recently and I was so satisfied.
I have a DJI Osmo pocket 1 and as expected this one has more features like a longer handle and a zoom - what is the co$t?

Good stuff. Love your videos. Which mode do you use? Follow, Tilt Lock, or FPV?
Wow, thanks for the behind the camera. Also wondering, how's your bike setup?
You're welcome! My bicycle setup is a GoPro helmet mount, GoPro HERO8 Black, and an external microphone.
Awesome vid AK. Thanks for everyone who did the recording.
Im grateful for this inspiring video. Is there a new update for 2022 gear? Im new to this and would love to learn too. Thank you ♡
Are you happy with the wide angle? Is it enough..or you have to use the extra lens?

I haven't tried that myself, but my sense is that it wouldn't work in the long run. Technically, you can do it. Great information to know. I’m waiting on my new Super73 S2 vehicle and I’ll be using it to record content for my future UA-cam channel.
I seriously didn't expect to actually find exactly what I was looking for. Do you know any go pro versions of this set up?

Thanks so much for this. I found it very useful! 🙂
If you only get an hour of recording, do you attach a power source for longer walks?
That’s true, but some brand from china make one battery holder for pocket, you can search Telesin DJI Pocket
Yes, you can plug in a USB power bank to have it record for longer.
