Sorry some of the shots are OUT OF FOCUS! I was using Single audiofocus instead of Continuous.... my bad. That's why you'll see it slightly out of focus or fully out of focus at times. The focus does work super well on this camera but you have to make sure continuous is left on while you're moving around.
@Today's Adventure You can read the manuals and specs on the DJI site, and the Do-It-All handle has a TRS/TRRS input. You can plug in and use a dual mic setup like the Saramonic Blink which has 2 mics and one receiver. Like most cameras, I don't think the small Pocket was intended for simultanous dual mics on its own. My Sony cameras don't even do that.
Probably the most comprehensive video so far on the pocket 2. I’m so proud of myself for staying strong and not getting pocket 1. Definitely getting pocket 2.
I had the Pocket 1 and decided I wasn't using it, so sold it. Then when the 2 came out, some of the new features sounded great. After watching plenty of YT videos, I decided that it was worth re-investing in the new one. I've now had it just a few days and I'm very pleased. And of course, Jeven's video helped make me feel better about spending money on this new one. Thanks.
Great! Your video comparison of Pocket 1 and Pocket 2 on a dim light setting is exactly what I’m looking for! As expected, DJI made a pretty good job of improving the image and video quality of its Pocket 2.

*Alas ! No higher resolution movie output other than regular HD for Time-Lapse and Motion-Lapse video !!! That's a deal breaker for me !!! You get higher resolution Motion-Lapse and Time-Lapse if you are willing to take the stills the camera creates to produce the end result movie, and take those images into an NLE and build them into higher resolution movie sequences, such as 4K, 8K and even 12K (Which is what I've been doing with the OSMO Pocket 1), but that's extremely time consuming, and frankly, it's allot of extra work in post. The GoPro will allow time lapse in 4K movie output straight from the camera.*

Brilliant video... thank you. I have just ordered the 2 Combo to upgrade from the Pocket 1 and you have answered all the questions the other reviews seemed to miss.
I was interested in getting the Pocket 2 but I ended up buying a Hero 9 when it came out, as I needed a vlogging solution. Pocket 2 looks great, the only negative is the battery life / no replaceable batteries. For reference, I have 4 batteries for the Hero 9, which I’ll use 2-3 on an outing
I think it’s a good upgrade from the DJI Osmo Pocket One. I feel like they did listen to some of our wishes and complaints. They did drop the ball with the battery life. A minimum of 8 hour record time is ideal for a day of vlogging... or at least close to it. I say yes it’s worth the upgrade especially since all the accessories are still compatible from the previous versions with exception of the waterproof housing.
Thank you. A really comprehensive Q&A. Greatly appreciate the effort, not just in answering the questions but the visuals as well. I'm stalling on purchase, waiting to see what Insta 360 are about to launch... 🤨🤩... I'm a fan of both brands, owning cameras, drones, gimbals etc. Thank you again.
I'm upgrading to the Pocket 2 as I really appreciate the zoom, despite it being digital. Additionally the better low light performance is a draw. I went to a couple of gigs, when life was normal, and the pocket was easy to use but needed a lot of post. This should allow me to use footage more or less raw.
One extra question that has not been asked... Can you charge with a power bank while filming ? It would solve the non removable battery issue ! Thanks.
That shot of you with the Pocket 2 on Active Tracking, panning side to side as you were walking left and right, was AWESOME! It looked like someone was behind the camera, moving it with you! That alone is what is getting me to buy the Pocket 2 - a darned camera operator comes with the package!

One more question: If I already own the iPhone 12 Pro and DJI OM4, is the Pocket 2 any better video and photo quality, especially since the Pocket 2 is limited in what it can do in 4k and higher frame rates? And I understand the Pocket is much more mobile set-up, at least until you start adding accessories to it, such as your smart phone. And sorry in advance for a somewhat loaded question, I'm just not convinced that the Pocket 2 is a better camera than my iPhone 12 pro.
As a "Professional" video producer - I really wish DJI would make a Pro version of this - Larger body, and slightly heavier to accommodate better sensor and heat dispersion. Also, with lens technology we could see mini prime lenses that could be swapped out.
Great to get if you haven't the original Pocket. I do and having added the a wide angle lens, Rode Wireless Go and wifi module along the way the asking price for the Pocket 2 is not for me. I'll spend that money on travel somewhere where I can get some fine video with my Osmo Pocket. :)

I'm super excited for the Pocket 2! I've been contemplating buying the Osmo Pocket for the last two months (been doing all my filming on my old Samsung Galaxy 6 😅) but was debating it due to the idea of also needing to buy the Rode Wireless GO. Now this solves all my concerns! 😍

I’m curious. When you were doing the side-by-side audio test the video from the pocket 2 looked washed out compared to the original. Was there some difference in video settings?
Great review. So informative. I have the Pocket 1. I also got the Pocket 2 for the same reasons you did. I like that I can wirelessly connect to my phone and control the gimbal with my phone. There are still many limitations. I really wish they would improve the battery life and/or enable swappable battery. An hour and forty minutes to two hours is kinda of lame. I liked and subscribed. Keep them coming please. Thank you.
the pocket 2 seems to have 30% better lowlight performance. If you adjust the pocket 1's exposure, you can see the real difference in performance. I'm not sure if it's a big enough upgrade to lowlight for me to upgrade from my pocket 1. Probably will upgrade. Because I do love lowlight filming and the pocket 1. 62% sure I'm going to upgrade. - WW (Wandering Wolf)
Thanks JD, a couple of deal breakers there for me, was all set to order the combo, however, no tracking in higher 4K 30fps is one, and both lapse modes only in 1080p (no 4K ) is the other... Thanks excellent video on point, saved me money...
Jeven, Thanks, as always, for the great video. With the CREATOR COMBO can you WIRELESSLY connect to Pocket 2 [for view, control, active track etc] while SIMULTANEOUSLY using the WiFi Wireless Mic? Or does only one work at a time? And is the Wireless Mic Bluetooth or WiFi? I have heard conflicting info in other videos. And DJI website does not say. BTW, the range comparison compared to the Rode Wireless Go was SHOCKING and FANTASTIC to know. I am buying the Pocket 2 JUST for this simple Wireless solutions without extra cages, adapters, set-up etc. Thanks for your words of wisdom.. Having just bought a Go Pro Hero 9, I was going to skip this, but the Wireless Mic is the gamer changer that made it an INSTANT BUY for me… but I am HOPING it will still work when your are using the iPhone WIRELESSLY to control and monitor pocket. Let me know what your tests have shown. Thanks again. - Eric ZORK Alan [Professional Poet & Bed Vlogger]
Howdy Jeven, great video as usual👍🏼😊 Youve provided all the answers to my buddies when they ask me why the hell did I have to get the new Pocket 2 when Im still so crazily in love with my Pocket 1👍🏼🤪
Great video. I cant get my head around AFs and AFC . Is AFS like manual focus ? so you click on it once and it's focused at that point. So for example Click AFS once on a landscape. Move behind a rock ( rock should be blurred out) Pan /slide left and landscape will be in focus. AFC always does auto focus Landscape is in focus move behind rocK and it will refocus on the rock when would you use AFS vs AFC Regards
You can charge while recording. I shot a 2 hour 4k video and was at 90% battery after. I used the Smatree power handle. They advise against charging and shooting as its bad for the battery, but they say once its charged to 100, you can do it, as it just draws from the power source then.... Though my battery still drained slowly, which makes things confusing.. DJI being unclear, as usual. Anyway, I always need long battery life, so I will always be plugged in anyway, so battery damage isn't a huge concern to me. By the time finite battery devices are unusable, I've usually long since upgraded. I use the hell out of my gear.
Great video. i couldnt fit my hand in the DJI supplied lanyard, so I used one i bought off amazon, Hand Wrist Strap Lanyard, Hukado 6 Pack 9.5 inch. Some people have said 256G micro SD card is max for Pocket 2, but I'm using a 512 with no problem. The case magnets are weak. I lost my iphone adaptor after 1 day. The wind screen for the remote mic doesnt have a solid feel to it when inserted.
Hi Jeven, living on a pension, I can only justify one large expenditure a year (which I use near Christmas). This year I can either afford to upgrade my Lumix LX10/15 compact to a Sony ZV-1 or upgrade my Osmo Pocket to a Pocket 2. So do you think I should made do with my Osmo Pocket for now. I’ve found its biggest problem is the shutter button that starts needing multiple presses after a lot of use (I’m a daily vlogger).
Hello sir. In my opinion, the upgrade from Lumix LX10 to ZV-1 would not be so big, as the Pocket 1 to Pocket 2. You will get only a good autofocus and mic jack on ZV1 compared to LX10. But on the pocket 2 you will have more features avaialble such as wireliss mic, wider lens, bigger sensor and etc. Also, the upgrade of Pockets are cheaper than the 1inch-sensor compact cameras. But I would recommend to get the combo option for Pocket 2 straight away. Thanks and have a good one!
I'd be tempted to go for the ZV-1. It has the potential to be a fantastic blogger camera. My question would have to be, is your vlogging on-the-go or stationary. If it's studio based then the ZV-1 is the best option. If you're a walkabout blogger, the wider FOV, better light handling, wireless mic and AT3 are definitely worth the upgrade.
I would go with the Pocket 2 as it has drastically improved the audio quality and as a vlogger sound is as important as the video. It's also more portable which is important if you're always on the move
Thank you for the video! But Dang! I was all set and excited to get this, then realized -- in typical none-of-their-business DJI fashion -- you gotta hook in to DJI servers to even get started. That is a show stopper for some of us. Paranoid? Yeah, maybe. Thanks just the same.
Thanks for that Q and A. Great info. Im planning to buy it and upgrading from the version 1. Soon as its available. looks like most places are sold out.
Not sure if there is already a comment regarding the magnetic wide angle lens but you can actually push the wide angles lens until you here the pop sound so it is secured in its place.
About ways appreciated your reviews and info. I was going to get the original pocket but I'm now glad I didn't. I just went through your link and purchased the Creator combo. I'm looking forward to using it in my new realtor business and my UA-cam videos. Thanks for all your informative content.
Can I wirelessly live stream using the Pocket 2 to Facebook/Instragram natively through Mimo app? Imagine the setup is this way: 1. Pocket 2 camera is mounted on its 'do it all handle' on the small tripod in front of me. Wirelessly connected to my phone. 2. The phone is with me to interact/read/reply comment to my audience while I am live streaming wirelessly and also to control the camera direction (tracking etc.) Thanks

Hey Jeven, at 5:40 you say there is no "clip-on" for the wide angle lens, but on another review, I've seen that, in fact, the wide angle lens you are using CAN be clipped on the Dji pocket 2. You just need to push on it to clip it on
Hey, 1st, I gotta say great video, my question is , with the pocket 1 i have to use multiple umbrella lights to get great video of reptiles in a medium light setting, do you think i should be fine with the pocket 2? At least now I know how to use the 'do it all'' piece is for as a newbie.. 😅🙏
Thank you.
Good demonstration of the tracking system. Thanks!
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! I got my osmo pocket just about a month ago and am loving it but now am considering exchanging it 😂
Such a great tool for creators! Great vid!
the pocket 2 seems to have 30% better lowlight performance.
“Not sure. Probably will..” haha you’re at odds with yourself just like everyone in the comments; myself included
Can you simultaneously control multiple Pocket 2's with the Mimo app? I know you couldn't do it with the 1st.
Thanks JD, a couple of deal breakers there for me, was all set to order the combo, however, no tracking in higher 4K 30fps is one, and both lapse modes only in 1080p (no 4K ) is the other... Thanks excellent video on point, saved me money...
Good job!
Enjoyed the mic/audio clarifications.
It’s clearer without the wide lens
Thank you, Jeven. You answered all of my questions in the two videos.
I want to start vlogging but I think I'm going for the insta360 one r
Insta 360 1r is terrible. It has low clarity and really bad dynamic range. Also the stabilization is not very good compared to now
@@CineZoneYT what would you recommend for under 500
@@karim.9958 osmo pocket 1 or GoPro hero 8. You could also get the osmo action which is good and pretty cheap with a front facing screen.
Great video. I cant get my head around AFs and AFC .
Is AFS like manual focus ? so you click on it once and it's focused at that point. So for example
Click AFS once on a landscape.
Move behind a rock ( rock should be blurred out)
Pan /slide left and landscape will be in focus.
AFC always does auto focus
Landscape is in focus
move behind rocK
and it will refocus on the rock
when would you use AFS vs AFC
Regards
what if its battery dies after warranty period? will that be replaceable
Excellent video and nice job triaging useful questions.
Great video a lot of information on this product 👍🏾
Great job man, own both, saved me time testing :D Thank u! Used to run Pocket 1 with 3D printed case & Wireless Go now basically don't need it
You can charge while recording.
The ending video when the DJi P2 out of battery, just beauuuuutiful
Great video. i couldnt fit my hand in the DJI supplied lanyard, so I used one i bought off amazon, Hand Wrist Strap Lanyard, Hukado 6 Pack 9.5 inch. Some people have said 256G micro SD card is max for Pocket 2, but I'm using a 512 with no problem. The case magnets are weak. I lost my iphone adaptor after 1 day. The wind screen for the remote mic doesnt have a solid feel to it when inserted.
Hey. Beautiful video. I have a question: I have a recipe for taking a photo of a main street while walking. In what mode is it better to shoot?
Thanks
Wish you could plug a lav mic into the wireless transmitter.
I think you can...
5:35 It does clip-on. Just push it harder.
I just got Pocket 2 and it has no clip on for wide angle lens 0_o Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Thanks for that Q and A. Great info. Im planning to buy it and upgrading from the version 1. Soon as its available. looks like most places are sold out.
Not sure if there is already a comment regarding the magnetic wide angle lens but you can actually push the wide angles lens until you here the pop sound so it is secured in its place.
Btw, your wide angles lens are dirty
About ways appreciated your reviews and info. I was going to get the original pocket but I'm now glad I didn't. I just went through your link and purchased the Creator combo. I'm looking forward to using it in my new realtor business and my UA-cam videos. Thanks for all your informative content.
Good job, man !
Can I wirelessly live stream using the Pocket 2 to Facebook/Instragram natively through Mimo app?
Imagine the setup is this way:
1. Pocket 2 camera is mounted on its 'do it all handle' on the small tripod in front of me. Wirelessly connected to my phone.
2. The phone is with me to interact/read/reply comment to my audience while I am live streaming wirelessly and also to control the camera direction (tracking etc.)
Thanks
Can’t wait for mine to arrive in 15days time 😂😅❤️ hope by then the autofocus is fixed
Same
I have the wireless module on the one works real well
Good video. My QUESTION: I want to use a small accessory to give me a GoPro mount to use with a HEAD MOUNT. Is Pocket 2 the same dimension? Will the mount interfere with the kit accessories? Any recommended product? Thank you!
Great video, thank you. It’s on the Xmas list 👍
What’s the adapter to connect the iPhone to the camera so you can use it as a monitor? Thank you, great video.
Great review, just a question, it's normal when you switch on the pocket 2 the flip go straight in selfie mode ? I would like when I switch on the camera go straight in front and not in selfie , thx in advance for your answer
Do not use side button to turn on, instead use right side button to turn on. Then camera will go to front mode.
Can you live stream with the old wireless dock from Osmo Pocket? Also how long does the battery go on the wireless mic?
Can you charge it while using it sir ?
Hey Jeven, at 5:40 you say there is no "clip-on" for the wide angle lens, but on another review, I've seen that, in fact, the wide angle lens you are using CAN be clipped on the Dji pocket 2. You just need to push on it to clip it on
Hi.
Great info thanks.
Just thought i would add that the DJI pocket 2 can be used WHILE charging from a power bank. Just sayin '
Hey, 1st, I gotta say great video, my question is , with the pocket 1 i have to use multiple umbrella lights to get great video of reptiles in a medium light setting, do you think i should be fine with the pocket 2? I love the pocket outdoors but 15 munutes setting up lights and then 15 minutes breaking them down drives me crazy but necessary to record better video than my note 9, I did pre order the pocket 2 so my fingers are crossed.
Thanks in advanced
