      @@colormesarge its interesting to me to watch a company's progression. they have gone from basic rebranded Chinese stuff to trying to compete with name brands like matco and snap on. ive never been ashamed of my HF stuff, it almost always catches people off guard when i show them a completed project, whether its furniture, a remodel or anything else and i get the "wish i had the tools to do that" comment and i tell them most of my stuff is just cheap HF stuff lol. its nice to see them trying to improve their products when so many other places are trying to make them as cheap as possible

      Would have loved to see what they could do with something that would fit under a 440-6 pack hood or something. All of their builds are "streetable" race engines and would like to see just a healthy driver that isn't so over the top.

    I have the same engine in my 16 power wagon and you can tell Rams tuning is definitely leaving a lot of power on the table.

    Wow! It’s going in a ‘69 Roadrunner! I remember when I was a kid in the summer of ‘69, in Detroit. Mr. Thomas’ friend from Dodge came to visit him in a bad ass gold ‘69 Roadrunner. We waited on him to come out to leave in it. He was a tall fat white guy. He was smiling. We didn’t know why he was smiling. We soon found out, as soon as he started it. That wasn’t no stock engine. It had a big nasty cam in it, and a tricked out exhaust. It was 🗣LOUD!!! He eased it into the street, backed it up to center it, then he went bat 🦇 shit crazy as if he was in a water💧box. He did the worlds greatest burnout down the block for us!!! I can still see and smell the smoke. It was fantastic! Looking back now, it was an A12. I remember that hood. So, he had a built 440 in it, I presume. Had slicks on it too. I still remember that as if it happened 10 minutes ago! I wish I had me a ‘69 Roadrunner.

      @@CJColvin I was 13 years old. The power of that motor went all through my body. I had always loved muscle cars. But, on that day, I got hooked on the adrenaline rush of big horsepower reverberating through the body. It was crazy!

      @@CJColvin I never saw the heads or the engine. All I seen was that A12 hood and scoop. I’m a betting man. I’ll bet a monkey against a fat man, that, without ever having seen the motor or asking ‘ol boy what was inside the motor. I’d have to say them heads were done. It set up to take your money. With that big nasty cam in it, you gotta have head work, porting, polishing, valves, springs, locks, retainers, roller rockers, roller lifters, roller cam, manifold, aftermarket larger carburetor, all from A-Z. Back in the day, guys in Detroit, black or white, did not play. They used to do it right. But, to answer your question, I’d have to say yes.

    A harbor freight power washer. I like what i see, some of us are broke ass youngsters and thats where we gotta get our tools so nice to see the pros using something from there. That must mean it half ass works well.

      I've gotten a few things from there. They make tools and machines that make a lot of sense for those who aren't using them day in day out. I'd still want some tools from other places but always use their stuff to supplement what I've got.

      @@92powerdiesel61 exactly i feel the same way. You cant use alot of their stuff as hard as snap on or matco. But for someone needing a tool to get a job done a few times and dont want to spend a fortune its great. There is something fulfilling about the crispness of a snap on ratchet and some other tools that are just amazing for any price.

      @@AjarZzzz Right now I'm in the Army but after I get out I want to open or work in a shop. Looking for tools in estate sales or just from guys retiring is a great way to get quality tools at a decent price. Always to need for cheap, disposable sockets though.

      Did you build them back stock or were they high performance for cars or trucks or what? What part of the country are you in my friend?
      I’m wanting to build one to do a swap into my 91 Jeep Grand Wagoneer but I have absolutely no hemi experience! Videos like this help me a bit but they don’t look as bad as I was expecting! I’ve built plenty of other engines and jet engines and if I can build those then a hemi shouldn’t be too bad! I’m in NC and we have plenty of good machine shops around here cause of NHRA so I should be able to find someone to b point me in the right direction to build a nice hemi

    My dad drives a 2015 Ram 2500 with a 6.4L Hemi. I don’t really see a whole lot of 2500’s with the 6.4L Hemi. They all pretty much have the 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel, which is sad because the Hemi in general is just better than a diesel all around. Nowadays, Hemi’s in trucks don’t get the attention that they so rightfully deserve.

      I’ve been wanting to do a swap and put one in my 91 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. There’s a few guys out there that have done it already and it is a phenomenal swap!! It fits fine but gives the big truck the power it should have had from the factory. It replaces the 360 AMC engine rated at 174 hp or in that ballpark. It was fine for cruising but you wouldn’t break any speed records at all. The hemi fixes all of that and makes the Jeep an incredibly fun truck to drive period!! The rest of the driveline with the 727 torqueflight tranny , heavy duty transfer case, and the Dana axles can all be reused as is. I really hope I can find one soon and get this thing back up and on the road again soon

      I am truly surprised that they didn’t install an aftermarket lifter that is greatly improved and guaranteed not to eat the camshaft! To install a higher lift cam and keep the stock original lifters from the truck seems like a recipe for a reliability disaster! Absolutely shocking! Does anyone know of a company that makes an indestructible lifter for this application? Maybe the OE hellcat Redeye lifters would’ve been a better choice?

      Either misinformation or not enough. This was a factory MDS engine as they left the solenoids in and connected, tuned out for the camshaft/phaser lockout would need those 8 lifters replaced at minimum. Mopar 05038784AD latest revision "hellcat lifter" is the best solution for performance valvetrain. May have used the original yokes

      This is the 6.4 Hemi from a RAM 2500, the 392 is a higher horsepower SRT engine. Same size, different definition.

    Those motors make really good power with with small upgrades. I wonder why people never used them for swaps or builds? Price maybe? They seem to have a higher power increase from a cam swap than ford or Chevy. There's a cam and head package for the first gen Hemi 5.7 that brings them to 500hp.

      The hemi heads are quite a bit more bulky than the heads of e.g. a LS, perhaps it's just a bit more difficult to get one to fit?

    I have bought a couple third gen hemi that were burnt up and never had a issue with them just replaced the melted intake and whatever else was destroyed and they always ran without a problem but I did see one engine that was burnt up but it was in a high heat situation where the aluminum was melting so I made sure to stay away from that good thing it was a 5.7

    Man, this reminds me of a burned out Comcast truck I saw a few years back. Ram 2500 that had a 6.4 Hemi badge on the side. Had to keep telling myself I have too many projects already.
    Ha! Just hit hte part where you said it was from a 2016 RAM 2500. Can't help but wonder... :D

    How much aftermarket support is there for Detroit diesel engines? I feel that would be a hell of a project, and maybe pop it in a old mid 50's chevy or somthing.

      There are several folks around the country that are Detroit gods and could help you out there. Parts are still readily available for them but that is gonna be a huge chunk of lead to try and set down in to the front of any passenger vehicle!! They worked really good in the big trucks but the frames and axles were built to handle the weight but the cars and light trucks won’t do it without major re-engineering

      @@repairsbyseb1843 it would be badass man. It’s doable too, I’ve seen Detroit’s in a few things like that but it is uncommon. Most guys are using the Cummins but I like your idea of going Detroit!! Parts are available and you can usually find an old running Detroit that’s been used as power unit for something else and not run hard and you can usually pick those up cheap, ive seen plenty of them under $500 for a running unit!!

    I bet a big reason that just the top was burnt was those ram 2500 had a huge problem with alternator fires

    I thought your suppost to check compression when fully warmed up and not storage room temps? nothing wrong with harbor freight stuff . I have a harbor freight - 2 ton engine hoist and 2 4 wheel engine stands and an H frame shop press no issues

      The older heads are not as good, and less CI, but I would guess around 400-450
