God Particle was amazing because it emulated something you cannot get anymore -- his ozone 4 preset. Im sure Orion is great but i feel like you can just copy his old drum bus and get similar results (RBASS --> SHADOW HILLS --> BLACKBOX & The NLS bus he does)

The “grit” or “fruity loops” is just a soft clipper at the end of the mastering chain in older versions of FL… Idk how this is still so confusing for people. It’s not a limiter. The new default template uses a limiter in FL, but that’s not the signature sound.
There is clearly a lack of optimization on plugins in general as was the case on Izotope's plugins not so long ago, usable only for final mastering. It's not crazy in terms of sound rendering, you can achieve that easily if you have the skills.
Informative video as always. I would like to kindly ask if you could have a tutorial where you mix a whole hip hop track with the new Toneboosters V4 plugins. That would be awesome thank you in advance
So you're saying everything here except the drive (NLS) section is running in paraellel? It looks like maybe the harmonic eq isn't as it's labelled a bit differently and knobs dont show % but actually dbs?
I haven't tried it myself, and you def need to do some mixing under the hood when it comes to compression/eq with the snare, kick, ect. But i'm sure it'll sound great. I saw one review and they used acoustic drums, sounded amazing to me!
Ive used it and it sounds good. What I usually do for acoustic drums is having the close mics going to C Drums (orion) and the OHs HHs and Room dont. That way you get heavy but still clean.
Good! But I recommend having your kick, snares, rimshots, claps all going to one bus and putting it on there. But especially with more afrobeat, more organic ''chill'' sounding drums. Slapping it on all of it combined can sound great too
It does sound good! But like any plugin it will sound as good as the material you put it through. Slap some 2009 generic hip hop drums on it, it'll take em from a 2 to a 5. Put some modern well produced RNB drums it'll take em from a 6 to a 9.
Just tested it on a mix, I was at 70% CPU and it jumped to >100% and crapped itself, and it doesn't even have oversampling... 30%+ CPU is ridiculous for what it does

Orion does not respect the source material, it changes the original sound too much, especially the kick. In examples in this video the drums sound better with Orion off IMO.

Would not even use it for free. Note: I think the bass in your example is too distorted already to say something about the distortion from Orion.

Unless he starts releasing mono, multi-monos and surround versions…I’m not even interested in looking at them. When mixes come in with God Particle, it immediately gets removed because it cannot be translated into ATMOS if you use OBEDs or anything hybrid. Does this apply to his sub/bass bus? I know they go both hand and hand.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in Jaycen's demonstration video example, it looks like he is still using the NLS BUS chain along with this plugin.
he still uses the nls and his boom group presets on the bass/sub/808s since his next plugin "bass invader" is still in the making.
Thanks for all the tips and suggestions for using this not just on the drum bus - like on bass and strings...
