true, buy race car parts, get race car problems. the " increased Performance" advertised is achieved only by less filtering in an OEM system that supplies completely adequate airflow for OEM needs. Trying to fix a problem before clearly identifying the problem is a rookie move. If you think GM can't design an optimized air intake system, live it up .

this modification is based on nothing more than Internet gossip. Why people want to modify something without identifying a problem that needs correcting seems beyond reason. The professional GM engineering team developed and extensively tested the engine systems over years, spending millions of dollars in product development, but somehow they don't know how to build an. adequate air intake system . The engine systems are all interdependent , you start changing things and you might easily screw things up, especially with this shade tree mechanic deal that has never been tested for results , unlike what it replaces.
I understand that everyone would like their car to be special, better than stock. But this isn't the old hot rod days, before computers in the cars and supercomputers in the system development. the LS1 doesn't even run at those old-time temperatures when pretty much any modification was an improvement over what Detroit was peddling. .

As explained in another video there’s reasons they designed it this way. It’s not for max power.
GM engineers took into account where some owners will live. For example if there’s owners out in desert locations, you’d get them complaining. Also you get dumb people trying to drive through floods, so the oem box is safer.
Doesn’t mean it’s optimal for power.
