On The Buses was a fantastic show in the 60’s & 70’s. It was brilliant. Blakey was the bus inspector who had to keep the buses running on time & to deal with the ‘thorns in his side’ Stan (the driver) & Jack (the bus conductor). As well as the long running tv show, there were 3 films made in the 70’s.

Everyone has said about On The Buses so here is a few others you/Micky mentioned: - First Dates: People matched up for a date at a restaurant. It films them arriving, the date and then a followup on if they would do a second date etc. It can be very awkward, sometimes people have natural chemistry - and sometimes you get older people go on and it's sweet. - I'm a Celebrity: Celebrities (usually not A-listers) are put into a jungle/remote environment together to socialise and complete tasks (like eating bugs) and then the public slowly votes off members they do not like each week. - Who Do You Think You Are: Celebs look into their past family tree and people help discover their past. Some nice, often highlighting bad things though. These shows have had US equivalents to varying degrees of success.
I just cannot resist watching Micky & absolutely love to see the reaction from our American cousin's when they are testing out our British humour. I was at school with Micky and so proud of seeing how well he has done coming from the background we all shared. On the Buses was a British comedy that ran from the late 60s to early 70s. 'Blakey' was an inspector always trying to catch the drivers and conductors out for some malarky or shennigans. Wouldn't age particularly well now some 50 years later.
My brother used to pick up his grandkids after school and look after them for a couple of hours when they were quite little. Sometimes on the way home he would pop into the supermarket cafe and they would have doughnuts and a drink as a treat. Now their mum would not necessarily be best best pleased by this, as she would be making them dinner later and wouldn't want their appetites spoilt. So he would tell them not to mention it to their mum This attempt at secrecy was somewhat spoiled by the youngest grandkid saying to his mum, for no apparent reason "we didn't have chocolate doughnuts". Fortunately she saw the funny side and also remembered the pleasure of having secret treats with her granddad.

On the Buses was a 70s sitcom about people who worked... on the buses. It wasn't the greatest show even at the time and it hasn't aged well. It was very popular though. However this was probably due to the fact that, back then, entertainment consisted of 3 channels, only really 2 if you were looking for light entertainment, and the local pub. Put anything on in prime-time, especially on Friday or Saturday early evening, and you'd be guaranteed an audience that the most popular shows of today could only dream of. I personally wouldn't recommend On the Buses but what do I know? Taste is subjective. You may love it. :)
Entertainment was only that, just years after we won The World Cup and the Nation was football crazy and the attendances went thru' the roof and British films and THe Theatre were at their peak. Plus Horse and Greyhound Racing was massive then. London, alone, had 24 Greyhound Stadiums. Now it has.......NONE..
On the busses was supposed to be a comedy show about a bus depot in London it wasn't very good, Blakey was a inspector and was one of the main characters.
If you want to look for a new comedian, Frankie Boyle, he’s Scottish comedian who is Savage when he talks to the audience at the beginning of his shows. Another Scottish comedian Kevin Bridges.

Any Maureen O'Hara film again Irish born so British.
lol Are you claiming the Irish to be, for all intents and purposes, British? They'll be thrilled. But yes, 'Goodnight Sweetheart' was so beautifully done and so original. Loved that show.
'It Ain't Half Hot Mum', ‘Kenny Everett Video Show’ , 'On the Buses' all disowned now because of political correctness, but still absolutely hilarious.
On the Buses TV show is based on a driver and bus conductor working on a double decker bus in London. Stan the driver and Jack the bus conductor were lazy and very much trying everything at work to get way with using the bus for their own uses and or taking their supervisor Blakeys for a mug. Blakey hated Stan and Jack because he always suspected they were taking him for a mug, usually resulting in Blakey being involved at the wrong end of a situation where Stan and Jack set the situation for themselves. Its a show based on working class Brits 20 years after the war and Blakey looks like Hitler. So the show was very popular and many people over 40 watched it as aired or on repeats on TV. I have found out the show is popular in Poland and other places worldwide.

Married parental life means a certain dress sense,i get it lol
This one should have been called , Mickey Flan-again , given or the bake off content.
Death in Paradise is good and they've kept it going throughout changes to the main cast, but the ITV crime dramas are good also, Midsomer Murders and Vera are my favourites. Good for watching but not reacting I would say.
Love Death in Paradise. Normally don't watch those light, formulaic shows, but that one is very enjoyable. The scenery is beautiful too.
Blakey had a funny laugh. that was what he was imitating.
Death in paradise is awesome😂
Auf Weidersehen Pet if its on Britbox 👍Its English but you may need to watch it with subtitles turned on if you struggle with accents 🤣🤣
Love your videos.
BRITBOX recommendation: ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES.
Classic.
I don't know if Mock the week is on Mock the Week is on Britbox but it's brilliant
There are full episodes of on the buses on UA-cam.
Bus driver in rhe series Reg Varney was the first man in Britain to use a bank ATM
You should watch #AlanBastard (The New Statesman with Rik Mayall). You'll see Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie (House). But also get into Black Adder (Mr Ben).

Guys, I hope you will get to do another brilliant British stand up called Romesh Ranganathan. He has the best dead pan delivery ever. A huge British household name. He is on TV everywhere in the UK and he is really loved but yes very funny. His stand up at the apollo was fantastic
Yes Romesh is great, he has been in a lot of TV shows too so should be plenty on UA-cam.
Way too Woke.
Carry on movie's are awesome on the buses just brilliant open all hours and love thy neighbor are another great classic program and all available on UA-cam to watch
#Recommend.. Terry & June 🙂
Dependent on your humour, try "Red Dwarf", "The Brittas Empire", "Allo Allo"...
Some golden oldies "Blake's 7", ""Goodnight Sweetheart", "The Champions" (1968), "Monarch of the Glen", "Pie in the Sky"
Sci-Fi "Primeval"
British remakes of American shows your "Whose the Boss" is our "The Upper Hand"
Any Cary Grant film - stretching the British connection but he was British.
Any Maureen O'Hara film again Irish born so British.
(the Wolves used in Monarch of the Glen were from our Conservation Trust, from just before I became a Handler though so I never got to go there)
@@grabtharshammer Aren't you jumping seasons there? I'm just now realising how little I remember of it myself.
lol Are you claiming the Irish to be, for all intents and purposes, British? They'll be thrilled.
But yes, 'Goodnight Sweetheart' was so beautifully done and so original. Loved that show.
@@renejean2523 Your right I mixed up Dublin with Belfast...
We had a TV show where two strangers go into a cube and have sex and I can't even remember the point of it that's how low tv in England has got 😂
It's called Sex Box, which Micky named and was talking about.
@@danielgardecki1046 well that's embarrassing 🤣
Death in paradise is the boss

Check out The League of Gentlemen "You're My Wife Now". Papa Lazaru is fantastic.
Search ... On The Busses Skid Test
'It Ain't Half Hot Mum', ‘Kenny Everett Video Show’ , 'On the Buses' all disowned now because of political correctness, but still absolutely hilarious.
Brit box . Happy Valley. Good watch . Nothing happy about it tho 😂😂😂.
Shetland wont be the same without Douglas Henshall (Jimmy Perez)
James Acaster on Wilty is funny just Good as Bob Mortimer
On the buses is a must watch 😆
If you have Britbox, On the Buses should be on there. It is on our version... but I don't know if your Britbox is the same as ours.
Death in paradise spin off 'beyond paradise'.
stephen lewis in the audience?
Alan Partridge
On my god soooo many good series to watch on there.
Here's a few
A touch of frost
Jonathan creek
My family
Thin blue line
One foot in the grave
Open all hours
Good life
Yes minister
Yes prime minister

Micky had a short career as a teacher
You need to go down the Karl Pilkington rabbit hole. Start with 'An Idiot Abroad'. You will not be disappointed.
I would suggest 'Brassed off'. A movie about a coal miner's brass band.
You might need subtitles though, and a huge amount of tissues. ???????.
Death in paradise.. Nice...
