@@pozitivtoks8743In a very bad snow storm you'd park, especially if there's a high level emergency on the road. I think what he's saying is, that thing looks so comfortable and nice that waiting inside of this truck in the storm wouldn't affect you or your mental because it'll be comfortable and warm AF.
Just wait until you spend 5 minutes trying to make a turn into a parking lot... I've seen one guy with this kind of truck struggle for five minutes because he needed an extra full 3 feet to maneuver once he hooked up the trailer. I wonder if some of these trucks will need an early transmission rebuild because they'll be in reverse a lot of the time.
It’s a nightmare totally unsuitable for normal trucking …Try getting that onto a loading dock on your blind side , anyone spending their life on the road are sad cases, I did 50 years but made sure I was home at least 4 days every two weeks …I’ve driven long and wide loads and they are tiring because you’re always concentrating not just on the road but what’s following…
Add a 53' trailer, or two of them, to this thing and then try taking a right hand turn to get to the warehouse. This is for the guy who wants to haul his 40' luxury boat on vacation, nothing else
Would heavy haul work with this type of sleeper truck? I mean plenty of heavy haul are permit loads and extra long themselves already is why I'm asking.
Why not haul loads like custom critical? Sounds stupid, but it’s urgent units. Typically shorter trailers (we’re talking you sacrifice your own sleep for time sensitive items and so forth). Also more expensive to ship, Hence a bigger profit. At that point you deserve a truck that you can live in. And it can still navigate traffic. You’re forgetting the truck industry has multiple niches. Volvo didn’t target a specific niche with this model. They looked at the urgency and importance of the transportation industry.
I've seen a guy bring one of these to my workplace. He took a long time to line up the truck with the trailer (53'). Other truckers got annoyed because it took even longer to align the truck with the exit gate. The wheelbase on those is the worst for tight places like a gated warehouse.
This is a nightmare at my workplace. One guy picked up a full length trailer and was annoying the other incoming truckers because his rig was too long to get out the exit quickly. All he had to do was move it 12 measly feet to the left but woah, that was a HUGE chore for him because of the sheer size of it.
@spaceace1006 It's going to be a nightmare. I've seen these absolutely struggle to make a simple turn in a parking lot that is just 10 inches too narrow for them. The problem is the wheelbase feels like it's the length of the Titanic!
Those giant sleepers are called CONDOs. You mostly find those with a husband & wife team who live in it. It has a full kitchen, bathroom w shower tv watching area w couch & a table where you can sit to eat or work with your laptop. And 1 big queen bd. Just like home. !
When I was driving tractors with an upper and lower bunk were referred to as Condos. There were a few of the large sleeper tractors on the road but they were almost always being used by Owner Operators who routinely pulled lighter loads like household good (furniture) and explosives (artillery shells or bombs).
Such a vehicle can only be of use outside city limits on long haul routes. It isn't a sleep unit it's a mobile home and would be ideal for a driver and partner but difficult to negotiate city streets with trailer attached
A lot of wastes space in the living quarters. Why the huge countertops and fridge?? With a little bit of planning they could have moved the ”diningroom” forward and fitted a fixed bed in the back 🤷🏻♂️
Look up the Jay Flight 195rb. Its a travel trailer layout that EASILY could have fit this configuration even with a full walkaround queen bed and full bathroom and still have room for a Dinette.
Those guys carrying air plane wings wouls have a Field Day hauling with this. Ive always respected thise guys more because they show off great skills. Doesn't matter how long it takes to make a turn because you're at work and everyone behind him would have to wait anyway. They could be mad, but its not like theyll do anything about it, but stay mad.
The last thing a trucker wants to do after stopping for the night is meal preparation and cleaning. What they want is a clean bathroom and a nice hot shower. Space to relax and watch tv
It cannot pull regular loads in a full length trailer. The trailer will almost never be loaded to full capacity. I saw a truck like this at my workplace. They picked up a full length trailer but it was only filled with boxes that had a lot of stuffing (the products were very small so they all had packing bubbles. I feel that if it had been loaded with heavier items, he would struggle to get it moving at highway speeds... Source: a guy at my job who used to be a trucker. He said some truckers he knew sometimes lamented how hard it was to move full length trailers when the wheelbase was so long.
As much as awesome it seems to be, this thing is already like a trailer of its own. But a cool build nonetheless. Maybe like if someone buys it for just pure fun and living, not actual driving
Very nice, but very long and in a corner the trailer would grab a lot of track space.... Nothing functional! Maybe if they put steering on the rear axle...
Gorgeous looking. Cab layout is weird, cup holders way too low and out of the way. Cup holder shelf is oddly shaped and not really accessible. Sleeper is nice looking but could use better layout into seating. Best thing is toliet/shower. Oven too low.
🎉🎉🎉 Shalom King Rig Volvo. Do The Real Rig Driver's get one of theses. With their Stimulus money. I'm a small Church. Your first lady mess with my church truck. I don't want their Stimulus cause it's the People money. Truth be told Can I get half on This Rig Volvo. Ok. I just purchased a Prostitute 350ML and I didn't know. I still haven't gotten the bank loan paperwork. Ok.
that's a big fridge to keep your big mac's in. I would of settled for a decent single fridge/freezer and then used the space for an eye level oven/grill etc🍔🍟🍔🍔🍟🍔

I know that some cannot pull that with regular loads like electronics and heavy items. I saw a truck like this pick up a 53-footer but it was packed with tiny items that weigh very little.
Real fun going into New York City
Especially on a right turn in downtown NYC
FNYC
NYC is cake for truckers, just look at how many huge trucks fill the city streets with reckless abandon
Or Boston

Wow i would have LOVED a rig like that when I was driving over the road. In a old Mack cabover with a coffen sleeper.
lol i hear that
That completely mirrored back to the camper is perfect for blinding all the drivers behind you when the sun is in the wrong place!
Snap
When you have a Trailor behind you, that will never happen
My thoughts exactly.
Pretty durn cool. Just imagine getting stuck in a snowstorm and having to wait it out in this.

if i was in alaska doing hauls i would want one of these stocked with enough food and supplies to last a week of being stranded
That's a dream truck right there 💯💯💯

It looks huge outside and inside there isn’t much room at all, not good design for internal space

Looks like the perfect rig to haul the road trains in outback OZ. 3000km from top to bottom and 5000 kms from side to side.

I know they figure you are sleeping at a truck stop, but slides would be awesome on these.
Here in méxico we need that trucks.the best of the best.greetings and best wishes.😮

That’s a nice fridge!
That net over the bed is so that someone can legally sleep while the truck is moving.

Strictly a freeway cruiser. Try driving this to Hunt's Point, or anywhere else with one lane going each way and try turning right or left.
Looks pretty practical for manoeuvring around tight spaces,
Why not use it for multi dropping in town centres
Most beautiful truck 😍😍😍😍
Wow thats alot of space 😮
Good trucks Volvo
I'll just park up and live in it!
For that money you could just buy a house, or a massive double wide!
Or a class A RV that has 3 times the living space

Would this still be legal pulling a 53 footer?
I luv your rig 😅
That is a great-sized head.

The size of the fridge/freezer seems a bit OTT for a truck.

It's a whole house, but how long will it be if you hook up a trailer
Makes a long nose Pete look like childs play
How much can it haul? Don’t know, never tried hauling anything just live in it!
How do you scale something like that???
A perfect truck for losing tonnes of money - the weight of the tractor greatly reduces what it can legally haul

What kind of weight would this be with a big load? Is there any scale in the country that could handle that kind of load. 500k or more

thats right, i could not beleive it either
Remember, kids: bigger = better. 😂😂😂
The dirvers cabin is straight mid 90s...
not much left for the trailer
Definitely need 40 acres to turn that rig around
Not bad. But no whirlpool 😎
The table needs a niche cut out in the corner. Makes it easier to seat
Very nice, but very long and in a corner the trailer would grab a lot of track space.... Nothing functional! Maybe if they put steering on the rear axle...

Сауна с бассейном в этом авто есть?
This truck probably weighs something like 30 000 pounds. I heard stock daycab vnl's are around 23 000. Bit too heavy for its own good if you ask me.
The weight of this truck is 25,060 lbs. Hope it helps.
Is that considered a tiny house with wheels 🤔
это концепт или реально такое уже ездит по дорогам?
Это Custom truck
So it sleeps 2 people?
It’s an apartment on wheels 😂
There’s obviously no maximum length regulations of truck and trailer like in Australia.

Probably yes since FedEx Custom Critical run these with 53 foot reefers all the time
Who paints a tractor white?
Manufacturer.
Just $8.000.000.000
This is what happens when you decide to compete with the railroad.
