Excellent analysis but it’s really from outsider perspective on the life of a British player playing in Spain. What the panel doesn’t mention is that Bale hasn’t been performing. It’s not cause he’s low key or doesn’t go out to dinner with team mates, it’s because for years all Jonathan Barnett could spew was “the reason Bale isn’t scoring 40 goals is cause of Ronaldo” etc etc and now that that moment has come, he’s been close to abysmal. They mention the glittering moments of his career so far in Madrid, but he’a also been very inconsistent, always injured and rarely looking 100% fit. You cannot say this isn’t Bale’s fault when Florentino Perez has tried repeatedly to BUILD the team around him, a man who cost 100mill and was brought into the club to be the heir to Ronaldo’s throne(with this being one of the main reasons why Perez always seemed so trigger happy to the idea of selling Ronaldo) and he just hasn’t filled those shoes. It’s one thing not to be a leader or a have shy personality, but a lot of this season rode on the expectation that he would step up and fill the shoes that Ronaldo walked in, and objectively speaking, he’s just been poor.

Most foreign players in Real Madrid learned some Spanish, look at Kroos, Modric, Varane, Casemiro, but Bale just couldn't bring himself to do it. Every season he's been at Real Madrid, he's missed 10+ games a season because of injuries.
Most foreign players in Real Madrid learned some Spanish, look at Kroos, Modric, Varane, Casemiro, but Bale just couldn't bring himself to do it. Add to that the fact that he has been injured so many times at other important moments than the Champions League final, and its not impossible to imagine some fans being dissatisfied with him.
The culture clash is just too much sometimes for some people and that might be the problem with Bale. Especially Real, which is an extremely hard club to manage and play for.

The how many people speak Welsh point is irrelevant. The most spoken language in Wales is English, so learning Welsh isn't a necessity. Spanish people speak Spanish, so why is it seen as too much of a stretch to adopt to the culture you're in? If someone moved to the UK for work, they would have to learn English. Also the Spanish media have frequently talked about how Bale hasn't learned the language so this isn't anything new. I think it was about 5 years ago and bale said that when playing days at Madrid are over he COULD return to spurs because he loves the fans. That time is now.
