Seriously why does Majima call him "professor"?
Majima call him sensei, which in Japan are used to call teacher or specialist in their field. Sensei (and another word shishou) are often translated as teacher but i am not sure what kind of creative thinking translated it as professor. But yeah, majima refer to wright politely as a specialist in legal bussiness.

All started with Namco X Capcom on PS2.
Project X Zone is basically a sequel, but adding SEGA. PXZ2 added some Nintendo characters, probably because Nintendo owns the developer.
