My dude, just subbed to ya a few days back because im about to build my first retaining wall. First time doing block work as well. To be honest, my commonsense, along with all the errors of it, is all i had to go on before checking out your videos. After four videos, i know im not ready. But starting the job tomorrow. Im more of an interior tradesman. Tile, framing, plumbing, etc... The client is fully aware of my level of knowledge and the invoice reflects these limitations. This wall is to act as a seawall to some extent and will be 25 foot long. ANY practical advise would greatly be appreciated. By practical, in this situation, i mean to say, "can be done by one man in 6 days" with 1000$ in materials. I am about to upload a video of it on you tube. Im not a content creator of any sort. My videos are for my own documentation and reflection, and for the benifit of clients.

My wall long is 6m x 3m height, and cost 1000BAM or about 500/600$, i work with my father on day we make 6m long x 1m height, next day also 6m x 1m, and last day 6x1. Every time last row on the end day we fill to the middle inside block with beton, to have good connection for next 1m height wall. 500$ with all materials 6 x 3, behind wall i have cement malter 3mm on wall, then nylon, then pvc protection, then come, soil, and below all pvc tube for water exit behind wsll, but i not have water behind wall. Also i make conection for next 6m wall. I will be record video of wall for maybe about 4 days.

Also cement + sand = cement malter not allow water to go through wall, but with this malter you need to work fast. On this site you can see how make cement malter, just use translate if you not understand www.mojaradionica.com/Malter.htm
Why the hell did u weld small pieces of rebar.. Instead of using one long rod? :)

Will is 3m height, if I use rebar 3 long then you must every blocks lift up above +3m then come with him on level -3m. If you have time to lift up every blok on 3m height then use 3 metal rebar. I look for faster option i lift up on max 1m height every blocks. So between every horizontaly and verticaly blocks is metal rebar filled by beton quality i think 3 shovel sand und 2 shovel cement. Wall i make is very strong he stay on one place not move anywhere and he keep 3m height of soil.
@ :) just u put rebar after u finish for example 10 rows... Didn't u try it? Your way is too complicated :) we did some 4 floors like this. I didn't do it once in my life.. Bug instead of that we do proper peri formwork, normal reinforced concrete

@@daveMCZ if you not welding than you can just put vertical rebar. That is not good where is then connection between horisontal and vertical point. On your way you make one row blocks then you make one horisontal rebar, then row blocks, then again rebar x 10 times then you put rebar vertical then concreate. Tell me on this way how you can make connection between rebars, when rebars are inside blocks. If you think concreate are conection between vertical and horisontal rebar then you think 80% wrong. Vertical and horizomtal rebars must have welding or metal wire conection then concreate. Vertical + horisontal rebar+ welding or making conection between vertical and horisontal rebar with small rebar wire + cement make wall strong. Without any connection between rebar you just destroy maney. My wall stay on place after many strong eartquake. On my way between all rebars horizontaly and verticaly there is welding connection. In another connection i not use welding i using metal wire and I make connection between two rebar. Somethimes things must be complicate if you want quality if not then make everything fast. 😁
@ not a good idea.. Unfortunately. I know what you meant. Not good :) if you want exact position.. U need to use framework, for example peri.. There u have wiring and proper position. Welding doesn't like hooks diagram, u change mechanical properties of rebar. If the construction is that loaded. Only possibility is really to use the framework
we saw this work system on you tube, we didn't have a board or the knowledge to make one-sided formwork. The wall doesn't have any support from the sides and that's why one side escaped 4 cm in 6 years. This system is a complete failure.
Good job 👍
No drainage behind ?
Yes i have stone, and pvc plastic, and pvc tube but i not record all
@ did u fill the cores with grout ?
@@itslexiandgrace2259 i dont know wath is grout, block hole i fill with sand and cement

Dude that steel has to to in the tension zone. It looks to to be the neutral zone which is pretty useless there

Horizontal rebar is a waste and not needed
