Want to know how to film a wedding? This video series is going to show you exactly how I film a real wedding! In this video, you can come along to the wedding with my wife Rachel and I as we cover:

And this is just part one! I have three more parts coming that will cover how we film every aspect of the wedding, from the bride and groom getting dressed and reading their notes, to our ceremony setup and camera locations, to the reception with the exact lighting and audio gear that we use. There was also a massive lightning storm that almost ruined the entire reception(!), so you'll get to see how we handled that.

Hi Matt, I've just started my videography business (2 months in now) and have booked a few clients just through networking on local wedding buy/sell pages on Facebook. I wanted to see if you could make a video on the not-so-fun-side of this business - marketing. Like what paid websites are worth it (in your experience): The Knot, Wedding Wire, etc, or what other ways you found clients (or better yet - got them to find you) when you were starting out and not as established. Thanks so much!
P.S. I've watched pretty much all of your videos, and you are by far the most helpful person I've found on youtube regarding making wedding videos!

Awesome video dude, you've given me some great ideas for my own wedding films. I'm a bit jealous of how much time it seems you get to get all your established shots in the morning. It's something unfortunately we don't have at UK weddings, usually they're just chaos where you get what you can. Also why do you bother with a glide cam your hand held footage is so steady haha Soild as a rock!
I'm looking forward to the ceremony section, but for now, on to part 2. Keep up the good work!

I do video for a university, but I’m branching into my very first wedding in Dripping Springs in June 😨 adding gear like field recorders and stuff is pretty daunting, but your videos are super helpful!

Just a heads up, in California (and maybe other states?) you don't have to charge sales tax if there isn't a tangible item being transferred. So if we deliver a link to an online gallery or video for folks, we don't have to charge sales tax, but if we give them a usb drive, we're required by law to charge sales tax. Your channel has been such a great source for me as I launch into ,y own vide9 production business. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and insights. Question: you use the fotodiox adapter with built in ND. You also use the sigma 24mm and 50mm. Does that mean you have non-Sony Sigma lenses and you use the converter to make them fit? I love the idea of having a built in ND filter and the adapter is cheap, but I’m using emount lenses with my A6400, would that adapter work?
