While I don't have/use wireless chargers currently, I think seeing public places (cafes, public transport, park areas) pick up the tech will go a long way to getting people more used to using them. Honestly, I feel like wireless charging is more useful when you're not at home; using it for little top ups throughout the day seems like a good use for me. If I'm at home I'd probably opt for a cable as it's usually faster.
you should get the yootech stand. its less than 16 bucks.. its a stand.. has an LED.. and its 7.5 amps. 5 star product on Amazon. i sound like a bot but trust me im not 🤠
You're not alone. I expected the same seeing as how there's all those chargers on the table. This is why I miss "This is my next", the series that'd actually tell you the best purchase in a category.
No talk about active cooling? That's disappointing. For those unaware, wireless charging builds up a fairly significant amount of heat. Extended exposure to heat will damage the long term performance of your battery, and some of the cheaper department store type chargers will get too hot and stop charging your phone halfway through. That's why some companies like Samsung (dedicated to extending the life of their batteries to avoid the explosive media reports they're infamous for) have built cooling fans into their wireless chargers. Some devices like the Nomad unit shown in this video have static aluminum heatsinks, others like the Samsung Convertible charger also mentioned, have active fans. As with anything, some cooling solutions are designed to be more effective than others. Some fans are louder, and not ideal for quiet spaces like your bedroom, etc. Take this into account when you make your purchase!
This should really have been included in the video. Simply talking about the options out there to buy is something I can easily do though a Google search. This video should really have considered the less-obvious headaches of wireless charges such as the cooling and power brick compatibility topics (points for the latter though).
One minute in, and they already lied twice. Not even half of phones in 2019 have wireless charging, and you aren’t cutting any cords because the chargers are all plugged into the wall.
I use the IBIS Wireless charger. Its great you can charge two devices wirelessly and it has a USB port in the back. It also allows you to use USB-C, Lightning, and Micro-USB as charging inputs.
one thing nobody seems to mention here. if you use wireless charging DONT USE A CASE WITH MAGNETS/METAL. They heat up like crazy when you use wireless charging!!
The fact that he didnt mention that if you have an iPhone, that charger need to be Apple Certified, if not, that 7.5w or those 10w chargers only charge at 5w. Cinda avarege guide tbw. They tried to make it casual, it ended up being poor
I don't have a wireless charger, but I have started taking a look into them. At this point, a "fast" wireless charger may be pointless in my situation, because I may only use it for overnight charging in which case means slower is better. But, of course, I should probably get a "fast" one as well for other situations. For now, my wired charging is vastly superior.
Bought the official Samsung one for my S7 Edge and it's twice the time to charge as regular wire. You need to plug the wireless charger in anyway so I don't really see the point in them?
The point is you leave the wireless charger plugged in, making it a "dock" for your phone. Place it wherever you always drop your phone, like bedside table or workstation. That way, whenever you wont use your phone and just gotta do something else, just drop your phone into the magic charger and it will start topping up!
Don't forget to choose the ones with a cooling FAN as my iPhone X battery seems to degrade much faster with ones that doesn't have a fan. Heat and battery doesn't get along well.
Brought an official Samsung convertible one, but returned it as it came with a short cheap Micro USB cable with a USB-C adapter which is hideous given the wireless charger is USB-C. They didn’t even supply the Fast Charging brick and it was so thick! Got rid of it for good, and it wasn’t even cheap!
This is one of the best guides I have seen in awhile, I knew all of this already, but it was nice to see all of this was covered correctly. I cannot think of anything that was missed out, fantastic

Got a question about wireless charger, I got a metal plate on the back of my phone so I can use it with a magnetic stand on my car (just like uber drivers). Would that affect the charge in any way? Im mostly concerned about the possible electricity or heat risks that might imply, thanks!
Thanks, it was pretty difficult choosing one, had to tie it to the bedside table because I move way too much at night and knocking things like a cat happens. Got me a Samsung charger and tweezers to fix it and now my non wireless charge phone looks the same.
You should explain more about the "wall charger spec" Every wireless charger support max 10W when use with QC 2.0/3.0 support ? It's automatic adjust the voltage to 9V instead of 5V ?
a few months ago i got a brand new iphone xr and with it, I bought a mophie wireless charger. i used it every night and it was fine, but then, literally overnight, my phones battery health went from 100% to 63%. yesterday I took my phone to apple and they had to REPLACE IT. I asked the guy if my wireless charger had anything to do with it and he told me that they are EXTREMELY bad for the iphone’s battery. i asked why they are sold in the apple store if they are bad for apple products and the man goes “I don’t know. apple has a contract with mophie and they have to sell their products in stores. I guess it’s just for profit.” wow. just trying to warn y’all.
When you're saying a weird name like the "rov power" charger, you reeeeeeally need to put it in the description because I have no idea what you suggested. You might ad s well have not suggested it.
For me, this doesn't address the biggest issue I've had with wireless chargers: the heat. What should we look for to avoid a wireless charger that gets really hot?
What would you advice for a fast charger with multiple coils and a large real-estate for my bedside so I don't have to be so careful in where I put the phone when I'm half sleepy?
In the next 2 or 3 years I think wireless charging will be the basic standard for all phones. At least for big companies like Samsung and Apple. I don't have it but I think it's more convenient than using a cable. I think it can be a great idea for companies to have in like Starbucks or Micky D's. Who know maybe Chucky Cheese will too. lol. I'll be glad when it is in the iPhone SE though.
I've got a simple 5W charger that I mounted flush into the top of my bed's bookshelf headboard. Sure it takes about four hours to charge my phone but I charge while I sleep so why would it need to be any faster? As long as the battery lasts through the day, all I need to do is drop it on the pad at night and forget it...
advise to all the people who dont like wireless charging or claim that this is not actually wireless charging. Just dont buy it. :) problem solved! It takes hardly any space to make phone wireless charging and the rest of us love having an option to charge it wirelessly without need to plug the cable into the phone. P.S to those who claim "whats the point of wireless charging, its not wireless charging". Its not over the air wireless charging. Its one of the types of wireless charging called Inductive Charging. So technically its wireless charging.
Xiaomi wireless charger has the same Qualcomm chip inside of the Samsung charger, and it retail at 10 dollar in China, so go eBay or amazon and try to find it
FYI: You can get a wireless charger for $5 at Five Below. I have one and it works for my needs. It's not fast by any means, but it was $5 and I have it next to my desk at work.
Should I expect to be able to charge my Note 8 if I have a very thin plastic case on it and a magnetic plate stuck on the inside meant for my car mount?
In summary: Make sure it's QI standard with at least 10 Watt, and that you have a power brick that supports the output. You could have literally just posted that as a tweet instead.

You can’t go wrong with Anker
Anker is the best!
Does it work for all (samsung, xiaomi, airpods, iphone) ??
I have the Anker power wave 10 watt wireless charger and I love it.
