There are several gay and gay friendly bars in Belfast and Belfast is ( mostly) safe and friendly for LGBT+ People. The two main gay bars are located in the Union Street area of the City Centre, one bar being called "Union Street" (and it's nightclub beside it called "the Kremlin" ) with "Maverick Bar" also across the street from those two. Plenty to see and do in Belfast both Gay related and otherwise, Hope you enjoy your trip.
I have heard that businesses in Newry accept euros (because they're close to the border) -- but I don't know if my information is up to date... good luck!
