I am honestly crying.
I hope that there are people who will help now, in this time of greatest need.
Sadly, we have lost tens of thousands of koalas, kangaroos and other native wildlife in the huge fires the last few months. Estimated one billion animals in total. But one thing about Aussies, and I'm proud to be one, is that we pitch in and help out in times of need. Millions of dollars have been raised through charities to help the people and animals affected by these fires which are the worst in our history. Just every day people digging deep and giving money to help.

Yes when I think about it and visualise their helplessness I feel very sad and tearful and sick in my stomach.😪

Lipm He’ll have a lot more to worry about in the wild than a teddy bear. Koalas can be really mean to each other and have killed each other having fights in treetops and falling out. The wild is brutal!

@@faith5401 Yes, I agree. I think we should help them so their population can grow again and that's most important. Not every Koala should need to go back in the wild. If he has a high chance to survive, he should, but otherwise one should adopt them and get them a partner when they get older, so they can have babies.

I can't get enough of these koalas their level of cuteness is off the chart, the tufty ears the innocent eyes the darling smiles the way they cuddle you, poor darling creatures.

When I was college I volunteered at the local Zoo working in rehabilitation with the Koalas. They were the most lovable friendly creatures. There was one named Lilly that when she saw me coming she would run to me and scream until I picked her up. Sadly she passed away 3yrs ago from natural causes. To this day I still think about her with very fond memories.
@Karen B College, Yes. Back then you had to do Volunteer work and you did it where ever they placed you. Lucky for me it was the local Zoo.

Koalas are struggling in Aus as human cuts their forest habitats down. I hope they are ok
Charoen P isn't their biggest struggle chlamydia? In parts of Southern Australia koalas actually had to be killed before because thet became too numerous. Now their population is declining because of STDs but that won't last forever so I'm notreally worried for them. There is other Australian animals that are a lot worse off.

Gula roos absolutely right. We could easily just adjust the way we live to co-inhabit with our amazing wildlife. Why do we push all the trees to build houses when a few big eucalyptus trees are such a wonderful asset to a property. We need ro think outside the box

I love the video. He's just so cute and cuddly. It puts me in a great headspace, and makes me feel happy when I see the koala videos. Mere words can't express how happy I feel. It's very therapeutic for me. I can't stop smiling.

I also have to feed my kitten every 2 hours for the first 2 months and I am so tired. I feel you, Simone. I feed him pure goat milk though which was recommended by my vet. He's doing well.

I think I’ve watched over a 100 koala/bush-fire related videos on UA-cam, and more and more it seems to me that people really want to be seen as virtuous and photographed caring for these adorable koalas. They very well may be but at some point you have to ask yourself: why did this have to happen and why is the news coverage overwhelmingly sentimental and uncritical of human activities/inaction? Why is it that over 1 billion animals were allowed to burn to death under a conservative Australian government known for its anti-climate change/environment policies which heavily favour construction industry development in areas where koala habitat is threatened? If these were 1 billion humans who burned to death, you can be certain the words ‘genocide’ or ‘criminal’ would be used and that the news media would take those responsible to task for their catastrophic moral failure to act in time. Australia: you are a sucker to the right-wing media barons that manipulate and control your brains. And innocent animals are paying the price.

I called my adult son last night who lives a few miles away he and his wife are animal lovers and activists.
They adopted a stray sick dog they found roaming the streets about a year ago he is thriving now.
She is an R,N. who travels throughout the U.S. teaching classes on diabetic nutrition.
When my son answered the phone I thought I heard a lamb in the background so I asked my son if it was the television,nope a baby lamb!
When my daughter in law was teaching a class up north a person actually brought the lamb into the medical clinic when she was teaching.
They told her the sweet little girl would die if it wasn't cared for,so she took it and here they are with this beautiful little creature.
It imprinted on her so at the moment she is sleeping with it,it will get up to 140 lbs,or so then they will find a sanctuary for it.

I always knew Koalas were cute, but never realised how vulnerable, sweet they are and how easy they take on human intervention until these hideous fires started. Seen many of these videos over the last few weeks and they are so easy and sweet with their human rescuers. Such beautiful little souls.

Animals grieving for their mothers, their habitat, their security. Being unable to express their grief - means they need sensitive people around them who can tune in to all animals.....So proud of all the volunteers helping these poor creatures. Wish I could help too; if only I were young & free to just drop everything and fly there to help. But my heart & kind thoughts are with all the rescuers.
