Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

He didn't want his wife to find out an ambulance came over and he would have had to explain himself and be guilty of cheating so he chose the option of letting her die. A very dumb decision in the end.
Evil decision
I think the fact that he hit her would've also gone against him. 0:55. He would face charges for assault.
@@malari9728didn’t really hit her but he 100% flung her like a rag doll 😓
Instead of being charged of infidelity he turned it into a murder. Not too bright😅.
"If you're guilty, would you please raise your hand?"
This sounds like something Patrick Jane ("The Mentalist") would do.
He did in one of the episodes. They copied from here.
Lol literally when Monk got the volunteers’ attention, I jokingly said, “Put your hand up if you committed the murder,” in honour of Jane, and imagine my surprise when Monk actually said it! 😂
She called 911 from a phone as she was dying. He pulled a Seinfeld by never speaking to dispatch. There are records of such events.
"It's okay, don't listen to him. You're not fat."
Aside from the adorable connection between Monk and Shelby, the other main thing I remember from this episode is being like, “Hey, that’s Hodges from “CSI!””😉🤣
"It's okay. Don't listen to him.. You're not fat."
so sweet of him
It was foolish to start throwing his stuff down the disposal. She should have just ended the affair, never saw him again, and considered it a lesson learned.
I thought the same thing but turns out that she was visiting him. His wife was away and that's why she was at his house.
TY :) I've corrected my comment to reflect your very accurate observation, Thank you for your kind words as you brought it to my attention! :) @@harumphsezmoi9781
Thats always in Monk series. People do not trust each other and they do not forgive each other. One mistake or inconvenience and you are done for. Like here. She did not even let him explain all in whole. She just overreacted and tada. Monks universe is not a social one. lots of mistrust and insecurity.
I used to watch Monk a lot when i was around 6 or 7 years old and 11 years later im still not bored of watching this show. Monk has always been an interesting show to watch 🧐😄
She probably would have survived if he called an ambulance
she was dunzo
but then what do you yell your wife.
@@abc3902 Yes, I would imagine there'd be a lot of yelling once he'd tell her. I like how you compressed that into one sentence!
Like ....
5:40 That's what the kids call "guilty knowledge".
Or 'guilty conscience'
Even the dogs were hooking up 😅😂
I don't know if I was the guy I would look around to see if anyone else was suspicious of each other.
LOl "Look Monk, it's the miracle of birth" Monk's wearing gloves, face mask n apron"Later scene Natalie "There's 101 Dalmatians" Captain Stottlymer-"Oh yeah, I remember what's her name, the villain, Cruella Coop da something?"
I thought he was going to cut monks hand, and monk would be compelled to have his other hand cut to be even.
Pineapple! 2:29
I'm betting that same pineapple prop was used in a Psych episode.
That would be awesome, but I dont recognize the prop and Ive seen a compilation of every scene where a pineapple showed up (yes that exists XP)
@@Riehentar Imagine if Monk secretly has a pineapple in every episode too, but we just haven't noticed it yet. ;)

Three months away? Wife was probably getting her oil changed too...
Monk the dynamite detective.
So cute 🥰
🙄🙄..
Even if you just ring off with 911 without saying anything, they still send someone 'round to check on you, just as a matter of procedure..😒😒
English has the word "attempted" ... Attempted puppy murders is more accurate, even though has 101 Dalmation vibes.
😮
i don't like or understand this solve. How did the killer not get arrested? He watched his wife die. When he had the opportunity to report it to 911, he didn't. Can someone explain this to me? i'm afraid i don't understand.
That wasn’t his wife in the first few minutes that was another woman whom he had an affair with!
He did get arrested. It was an accident, not deliberate or pre-planned, so the charge would be manslaughter, not murder, and he was showing remorse for trying to obstruct yge investigation. But Monk would have called Leland and had him charged.
ahh, ok. Thanks for the explanation.@@thomasshaw218

The woman who died was his affair partner. The death itself is accidental, but the fact that he let her die (when she called 911 and he stayed silent instead of requesting an ambulance) would be a factor in making his sentencing more severe.
why did he volunteer?
Unrelated,But Julie Teeger is so unbelievably attractive sadly the movies she's in are few ,but still 😍😍😍🤩

First of all, there was no murder in this episode. Second, “puppy murders” makes it seem like puppies were murdered.
