All the other vloggers didn’t present the best Waikiki eats as well as you so I’m subbie, thanks for helping us budget people, will be here 🌺🌴August 2023
Hi Big John! We’re from California and used your good recommendations - went to Leonard’s (always go there), Ono’s (maybe they had an off day or we should’ve ordered what you did), Rainbow Drive-In. **Tamafuji Tonkatsu was the absolute BEST!!! Reservations were difficult to get though. Will definitely return there next time. We also hit up a few places on Kapahulu Ave not on your list that we’re both good - Zippy’s and Side Street Inn. Thanks so much. You should have a good tour and lead tourists to the good eats foodie man!
Mahalo for watching guys! I’m glad you folks found it useful, I got some more videos coming up about other restaurants around town so stay tuned incase you revisit 🤙🏼
Kudos to the lovely folks who work at Leonards and Rainbow. After a year of absence the owner of Rainbow recognized us. We made it a habit to always split a plate after a morning of snorkeling and a bus ride from Hanauma Bay. Back in the old days when it wasn't so expensive.
You speaketh the Truth! Opening w Leonard’s, my first stop when coming from Cali. Twice a day for me, oh yeah. Ono’s Seafood was on vacation when I last visited - huge disappointment - but we’ll get there this time. Big John, thank you, I want to eat at all the places shown. I’m your new Subscriber.
Rainbow drive in is pretty good and if you don’t mind going out of Waikiki you can go to ala Moana shopping center. Lot of good places there and across the street to the lunch pavilion in ala Moana beach near the ala Moana beach park.
Can't agree with your selections more! Recommended to go to/Stumbled upon many of the restaurants you mentioned on the list and enjoyed myself lots in each and everyone of them. I think another restaurant that deserves a shoutout is Sunrise restaurant, who specialises in Okinawan food. Its located near Rainbow Drive In and their soups/noodles are amazing. Definitely recommend everyone to try their food out! Am so glad that my favourite Avenue in Hawaii is getting a huge shoutout! Also, Waiola Shaved Ice is near the area (opposite Safeway). Best dessert option in the area!
There is a really amazing Chinese restaurant called House of Hong right next to rainbows Drive-In in fact it was right in front of him what he was standing in the parking. I was sure hoping he was going to point that restaurant out.
Aloha! Mahalo for watching 🤙🏼 If you’re gonna stick around Waikiki, I think one of the best and most convenient ways to rent a bicycle here is using Biki, they have bike stations all over Waikiki where you can pick one up and drop off at another Biki station, they even have an app you can download to see where all the stations are to find one closest to you, NOT sponsored by the way lol!
I tried some malasadas back in December 2021 it was the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth they were disgusting they went in the bin. They are a take on the British Donuts that are filled with jam and sugar.
Not a very informative video. Little commentary or description of the food eaten. Could have gotten the mixed plate to show viewers “a little bit of everything” but got the boneless chicken instead. 🤦🏻♂️
Let me know in the comments if you guys have any questions about Hawaii and I'll try my best to answer them! 🤙
Been there and love Lenard’s ! Headed there again in November! Haupia all the way!
Gotta finish the evening at Barefoot Beach Cafe right on Queens Beach
Great video!!!!
Sir you can definitely eat I think one of those plates at sweet Es would have been enough for me.
Folks line up outsidat Leonard's early in the morning before they open. Fun to wait for a winter sunrise there to pepple watch.

Mahalo nui loa for subscribing, I will have more videos about other restaurants around town pretty shortly! 🤙🏼
BTW....One you forgot to mention is Fort Ruger Market,
you ate at all the places in one day? I could do that ! Mahalo for another good video !
I’d like to give the impression that I did but you know I didn’t 🤣

Hi, John. Good morning. Any place to recomend for bicycles rental in Waikiki area?

@@bigjohnshawaiianadventures will check that out!
Mahalo, John!
FYI...Ha'ili's=Hah-ee-lee's, Permanently Closed as of 5/2024
Leonard's and Rainbows are in Kapahulu not Waikiki.
Appreciate the video! Where are you originally from? You don't sound like a local based off your pronunciation of certain words.
Originally from Turkey! 🇹🇷 grew up in North Carolina and lived here on O’ahu for over 10 years
He said the red drink 😂😂
😁
Yup 🤦🏻♂️
My bad, thought this was for/by Hawai'i Locals.
Kapahulu food tour without SIde Street Inn? seriously?
So much good food so little time!
False the best & cheapest eat’s in Honolulu are in China town Kalihi & Waipahu
Yea Sweet E's is overrated; food is meh. Rainbows has gotten more expensive and the quality has gone down over the years.
I tried some malasadas back in December 2021 it was the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth they were disgusting they went in the bin. They are a take on the British Donuts that are filled with jam and sugar.
These are Portuguese style. Not all taste everything starts in the UK.
Ewww! Raw fish poke looks so gross! And $17 is kinda pricey for the sloppy gravy meat thing you ordered. Love the fun music in your vids.
