Very nice!! I am doing this mod tomorrow. For those wondering, on a '05 xterra (WITHOUT the Rockford Fosgate factory system) the front door speakers are 6x9, rear door speakers are 6.5inch round, the dash speakers (in the front of the left/right corners of dash) are 7/8th inch tweeters. You can pry the edges of the mesh grill up to reveal the tweeters, they will have 2 phillips screws holding them down and you will need an angled screw driver to remove. You are welcome.
Started changing my speakers out after changing the window regulator in the driver door today. Thanks for posting the wire colors. It helped. I used the plug off the old speaker and soldered it right to the terminals.
Thank you for sharing all this information I have exactly the same 05 xterra, I like the way you explain everything sample I have a question what are the size of speaker is in front and back Thanks for all your videos
Just curious if your Xterra has the "component" speakers in front like mine does, with the tweets in the dash, I was told I had to replace the tweets with the 6x9 when I had a blown 6x9.
Was that person trying to sell you speakers? I do have the speakers in the dash and they were not blown. I did not replace them when I got the new 6x9 and everything is fine. :D
Jesse kangas I just decided to try and plug and turn it on to see if it was working with no issues on every speaker I put in the back doors I did blue as negative and seems to be working fine
@Jesse Kangas I was just reading up because it seems to be working alright but it also feels like it's missing something when my sub isn't hitting it doesn't have to much bass in them by themselves and I saw something that was saying the orange is the negative in the two rear doors still not sure about the driver door yet
Thanks again for the great videos and pro camera skills bro. Seems every time I want to do something to my frontier, you have a video related to my project, from timing chain to stereos. I hope you make big $$ on the ad revenue. Lol...
Haha thanks for watching. The ad revenue is getting there. It’s not “quit my job” money but it’s enough to keep buying stuff for the X so I can continue to make videos.
I want to say that I very much doubt it. Nissan would have had to do some pretty unique wiring for that to happen. Most cars have a radio and all speakers are directly connected to it. So when you remove one it will not affect the others. Also, most speakers will have a nice easy clip that connected the speaker wire to the speaker itself. I recommend digging into the dash, remove the speaker and turn on the radio. If it breaks something else just put replace the speaker or reconnect it before reassembling your dash.
I just bought some speakers for door panel on my Xterra, and when I raised the volume to about 40 sound cuts off then on it does that constantly what do you think the problem could be? please help.
Just make sure you don’t pull the door panel off with the power window wires still connected. You will have to gently pull the panel away from the door and reach back to unplug them. Other than that it should be the same.
+Ireef8 yeah it's been nice, I had to do a lot of work to mine because it was very under maintained but ever since I finished the work it's been a rock-solid ride for me.
+Colt Webb oh nice. Ya know before I was doing these videos I replaced the radio but I suppose it would not hurt to take it out and put it back I'm so I can show you guys.
+Colt Webb Hey Colt! I went ahead and did the radio removal video for you. Its uploading right now and should be up in about 30 minutes! Let me know if you need any further information.

I just bought a CLEAN 2005 Nissan X terra. I can't thank you enough for this channel and these instructional videos!
Thanks to you, changing my front speakers was easy peasy! Thanks for being here on UA-cam!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching and definitely subscribe for more!
You're my go-to channel when doing anything with my X...thanks.

Got 'er done. Easy. Really nice detail so I only cracked one retainer by the door handle. Still fits snug. No harm, no foul. Thank you much!!!!
Thanks heaps for this. Just needed to know the wire colours and you answered that so thanks a lot!
Use a shop towel like you would dental floss to remove window crank clips. Works like a charm. Thanks for the vids btw, they're awesome!!
Thanks so much . I have the same Xterra & was having trouble getting the window handle off.
+momoneedsluv of course! Glad it helped.
Thank you for sharing all this information I have exactly the same 05 xterra, I like the way you explain everything sample I have a question what are the size of speaker is in front and back Thanks for all your videos

Great video. Very helpful for my install.
Hey do you happen to know the color for the P/N of the rear speakers? Great videos, btw.
I'm jelous because I really wish my 2001 Xterra had sealed doors and 6x9 speakers on the front instead of 6.5. Thanks for the video.
+Fernando MCC of course man.
Yo ry where did you get the new channels from and the speaker too
Go check out a website called crutchfield, enter your vehicle and theyll show you everything that fits
Do you have speaker specifications?
What color are positive and negative for all the other speakers? Cant find it anywhere
Gino Sipperley I’m looking for this same information.
Jesse kangas I just decided to try and plug and turn it on to see if it was working with no issues on every speaker I put in the back doors I did blue as negative and seems to be working fine
@@ginosipperley5038 I did the same thing. Everything worked out. Did you replace the rear door speakers too? What size did you use?

How is yours sounding after install?

I'd like to remove the center speaker in my 2004 Nissan Titan dash. if I do this will it cause any of my other speakers not to work?

What is the size of the speakers you use ? is it 6x9?
I believe Metra sells kits so that you don't have to do this splicing.
I just bought some speakers for door panel on my Xterra, and when I raised the volume to about 40 sound cuts off then on it does that constantly what do you think the problem could be? please help.
My Xterra is a 2011 S model with powered window is there anything I need to watch out for?
Just make sure you don’t pull the door panel off with the power window wires still connected. You will have to gently pull the panel away from the door and reach back to unplug them. Other than that it should be the same.
Hey still a good SUV I assume, looking to pick up an 06 that has crank windows. It's cheap!
+Ireef8 yeah it's been nice, I had to do a lot of work to mine because it was very under maintained but ever since I finished the work it's been a rock-solid ride for me.
Now show how to replace a cd player. lol waiting on that one

+Ry the car guy hell yeah thanks bud
Would this drain my battery putting new speakers in the ones I am looking at are 400w?
No, you should be all good. The head unit only puts out a certain about of wattage. Its not going to be 400.
