    The "curved path" is safer than a perfectly straight stretch of road because the driver has to remain alert.
    General Eisenhower was so impressed by the German autobahn, he advocated for the Interstate Highway System in the US after he became president. That was a tremendous improvement.
    In the '40's and '50's we had a lot of two lane roads and it was annoying (and dangerous) to pass slower cars.

      This whole documentary is rank revisionist history. Which is too bad because the filmmakers aggregated outstanding archival footage. But listening to these commentators has devolved from “hey wait a minute! What about….?” to essentially recognizing more propaganda of 21st century academia

    The name of our interstate system is the Eisenhower interstate system. Eisenhower required every few miles, I think 5, of the interstate had to have at least a 2 mile stretch of road long enough for a B-52 to land. Remember, this was the height of the cold war. For a humorous take on the Cold War, I encourage you to watch Doctor Strangelove. For a serious take on it, I encourage you to watch the Bedford Incident, The Manchurian Candidate and other movies made between 1961 and '65.

    I realize this is hindsight...Hitler was amazingly inept as a leader in war and peace for the German People! I really believe that if Germany had persisted in pushing forward on industrialization in the Nation...the German People could have attained a high degree of success in achieving a decent standard of living for ALL their citizens. They were working their way out of the depression (Americans did). The War was a "waiste" of all the expended effort and money. Germany needed ALL of its People (Jews, minorities, etc.) to make its Nation a modern leader in Europe!
    Hitler had reached his "limit" as a leader of this Nation when he was willing to spend everything in a "vain" war. But, by this time , he had complete control over everything in Germany! What a megalomaniac ( and eventually...a thorough drug addict)! Let us remember...lest we are condemned to repeat this history!

  • @zworm2
    @zworm2 10 місяців тому +6

    Remember the First World War had not really ended, it was just a Treaty that was signed and the treaty was very strict about what Germany could now produce. War tools were restricted. But the nazis found a way to take money from the people legally and required by all. Incrementally. Towards a car and also towards holiday camps. What does a war require. Machinery for transport, roads and rails and the machines to move on them. All this money legally taken from each worker went towards a future build up of a war machine. Volkswagen is hitler's dream and still is. It amazes me we adopted this symbol into our society. Like the history of Bayer and mercedes. Tools of the holocaust.

    Hitler was a animal rights vegetarian rich people hating Marxist, for years. Then he turned into a rich jew hating socialist and wrote Mein Kampf to explain his reasoning. His big error in the book was thinking markets would shrink and Germany would no longer be able to trade manufactured products for food. So Hitler thought Germany must invade agricultural countries to long term secure food. That error cost millions of lives.

    In the U.S. women must also work to support their families as most of their husbands don’t make enough to support the family. And women are paid less than men doing the same work, even if they work harder and better.

Hitler is so obsessed with Germany this and Germany that I doubt if Hitler would read anything written by an American industrialist. In fact Hitler belittles Americans as a bunch lazy and soft capitalists who are decadent. A lot of Hitler's National Socialist thinking sound like anti-capitalist slogans from Marx's Communist writings.
