  • When I saw this top I wanted to recreate it because I fell in love with it! I went out of the ordinary and used the Summer Nights Romper top and the Cuddle Tunic sleeves and I just love how it turned out! I hope you love it as much as I do!

For the scallop edge, I fold over the fabric and use an overcast stitch with high tension and it gives you a scallop edge. You can either do it on the band or on any hem and it's beautiful

For the scalloped trim, I thought of Sarah Spaceman's video. "The Legacy Behind This Painfully Difficult Cosplay". At the 45:10 mark, she talks about making inverted scallops on her cosplay costume and how that acts as a kind of binding on it.

Love the hack and the fabric-so cute. The overcast stitch will get that scallop look. That could be another great video for you.

Can you share where you purchased your material on your videos as I love what you use and also can you share what you have your machine set on like tensions and stitch, differential feed and such for us newbies?

Sure! This fabric was from bohofabrics.com. I’ll try to share those things more. Thanks for the suggestion.

There should be some scalloped binding.

Well, I'm laughing. Talk about a coincidence in you wanting to know how to Sew that Miqco edge!
I was just this last minute watching an old Nancy Zimmerman episode where she shows how to sew that!
It's easy. But I will not spoil the fun for you!
    Enjoy!

That looks like a shell stitch. We used to do that a lot on knit t shirt sleeve hems in the 80s. It’s easy to do. I’m not near my machine to look for the stitch. I’ll post again later if no one else says what it is.

Great advice about trying new things in your sewing?🙌 You’re right about it being a fantastic way to learn. Even though it may not always go well, when it does it offers a wonderful boost to self confidence. When it fails, it often gives ideas for further modifications that will actually work.😊
