- Continuing off where part 1 left off, the variety of power and trains keeps growing. What an awesome day, I couldn't have asked for it to be any better. 27 total trains, 9 different railroads, a wide variety of power, you do the math.
Train #16: IHB 3862 (SD38-2) works hard to get its manifest south on the IHB line
Train #17: CSX 574 (AC4400CW), CSX 5439 (ES44DC), and CSX 5409 (ES44DC) lead an intermodal south onto the Barr Sub
Train #18: CP 8501 (AC4400CW) and CP 9560 (AC4400CW) lead an autotrain north on the IHB
Train #19: CSX 5107 (AC4400CW), CSX 5275 (ES44DC), and CSX 4539 (SD70MAC) lead a manifest south on the IHB
Train #20: CP 8782 (ES44AC) and CP 8815 (ES44AC) lead a manifest north on the IHB
Train #21: IHB 2923 (SD20) leads a local south on the IHB
Train #22: IAIS 510 (ES44AC) leads BISW down the connector towards the IHB
Train #23: NS 3205 (SD40-2) and BNSF 5039 (C44-9W) lead a podash train south on the IHB
Train #24: Now with IAIS 511 (ES44AC) leading long hood forward, BISW continues its job by going south on the IHB
Train #25: BISW clears in just enough time for BNSF 5772 (ES44AC) and BNSF 4807 (C44-9W) to lead their autoracks north on the IHB
Train #26: CSX 5467 (ES44DC) and CSX 86 (AC4400CW) lead an intermodal north on the IHB
Train #27: IHB 4010 (GP40P-2) runs light across the junction.
Broadway has one of the last manned crossing gates in the US. There is a man in that tower who controls the crossing gates.
Wish the Grand Trunk Western was still rolling through here!
The GT had a small transfer yard just to the south of here back in the 1980's, seems like yesterday!
If there were paradise resorts for railfans, this would have to be one of them! Really liked it - excellent! 5>
He is refuring to the total number of roads that have service in this area. The other 4 railroads you saw were bankrupt roads or run through leasers.

i was there in the early 1980s, and everything was mexico.
the distant overhead line is the old Rock island main.
when i was there, the iowa interstate had gp9s,chessie ran through here,BRC ran alcos.
milwaukee power, etc,,,
