Ok I know why brute grunts are weaker. It's because they live by fear when there controlled by brutes but with elites there not scared because they respect them
God I love how elegant the elites look in this game. This video made me fall in love with the plasma rifle. It looks like it's a part of them. An extension of the arm.
Miles Williams-Lewis well this is how they were before 343 turned them into the atrocity they are in halo4 and 5 haha, thankfully it looks they returned to a more classic look and I gotta say, I dig it
They're not terribly inaccurate in the game. They just made it less accurate for grunt squads since brutes by themselves are such a powerful unit. If you use them by themselves they're arguably the best unit in the game but as a grunt squad leader they were nerfed.

Brutes kept missing with their Brute Shots. I'm sure that if they landed all their shots, the battles would have come out more even, if not tipped in the favor of the Brute squads.
You are correct. In the majority of instances, the Brute's lance would dominate. Both races use plasma rifles, to poor or useful effect, but the brute shot is a step up as a grenade launcher that can kill multiple contacts with each grenade. The Elite could counter with plasma grenades, but Brutes have those, too. Speaking from a gameplay perspective outside of Halo Wars, the Elites gain advantage because they have better weapons training and tactics in the majority of combat scenarios.

So the Brute shot in Halo Wars 2 has stats that provide more accuracy while targeting vehicles? Quite possible! The developers certainly tweaked a few things to fit their rock-paper-scissors style.

So Elites and Brutes are the last to go, (No panicking grunts). Also because the Brute shot has a tendency to miss, brute squads are weaker than elite squads. I sort of wish there was more of a look into empire at war. That game seem to give each unit in a squad its own health bar so you can have individual casualties.
Yeah, but EaW had a tendency to be more than a little confusing in regards to Infantry. "Oh cool, I still have enough for the squad to survive! Oh, nevermind, it was just one from 3 differemt squads... Damn." I do think individual health bars would be cool, but only if they still received orders as a squad and maintained a cohesive whole, or at least disbanded themselves when they can't do that anymore. That would be a really cool dynamic, akin to Total War. EaW space battles are still absolutely golden, though

Flame throwers would die because Jackals have range. They are only good against close up infantry. Scarab has more HP than a vulture so the Scarab tends to win.
@Sacred Icon Brutes are stronger than the Elites but the latter are generally smarter which is how they could win but they will have trouble against Brutes that are smart such as Thrallslayer and Atriox.
Is it possible the brute squad is more effective at fighting armored units like wraiths and warthogs compared to their elite counterparts? I mean its a brute shot over a plazma rifle and judging how terrible the brutes aim was maybe they need bigger targets to really do damage?
Jayden Brand They're my favorite. Juat look at halo 2. How they replaced the elites as better warriors and more capable of serving the prophets. They were also tougher and faster than elites and they didn't even have shields.

The brutes didn't believe in the great journey that much anyway so once the prophets all died they just left the covenant and went home or joined the banished. The reason they were cast aside is because both Mercy and Truth wanted the brute force, size and strength of the brutes to protect the prophets.

The covenant started by the elites and prophets enslaved the grunts but grunts are more loyal to the elites
They miss a lot and they take twice as long to reload than the elites.

yea but look at how little the elite is firing as well, if he stopped striking a pose 24/7 his DPS would have been a hell of a lot higher

Atriox - Brutes seem to become stronger, and smarter, as individuals when their leader himself is disproportionately greater.
Brutes will always be terrible... look at halo 3 for an example

Tag relocation doesn't work for Halo 2, it's for every game after Halo 2.

The Brute-Grunt squad also benefits from the Electric Shot upgrade from the Brute Pair unit, which is something to keep in mind too
