The shirts are great. Just the right length of sleeve. Changing buttons can be a definite change-up. The new ones are perfect. Much classier. I didn't know there was such a thing as the powder sticky stuff. I use iron patches cut into various shapes for mending many things. My favourite was the Pac-Man and Ghost that I put onto the knees of my kiddo's jeans when he was little. I hand stitch around the edges just to hold them together a little better through the wash. I'll have to try the cross-hatching on the next one. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
A repair trick I've used when a shirt has Just One Button Missing from somewhere in the middle of the placket, and the Spare Button has vanished: cut the button from the collar and use it to replace the missing one. Replace the top button with a new one if desired - having a different-looking button at the top will look like a Design Choice - but I don't tend to bother since I never button my shirts at the neck. This also works with some button-up jacket styles - I was once helping an acquaintance look for a jacket button she had suddenly realized was missing, in case it had only just come off, and I suggested this repair when we gave up finding it.
I will not offend your eyes with my horrible photography skills, but on the topic of visible mending - I'm currently on a sashiko inspired embroidery overhaul on some PJ pants my Mom made me 10 years ago. Instead of using any traditional design, I'm backstitching around the novelty skull prints (1 pair is the left leg, 1 pair is the right leg) and adding pockets.
I love this video! You managed to smash together 2 years of assorted footage and make it feel cohesive.
Glad you enjoyed it! And thankyou!!!
I love mending/thrift content. Gives me ideas!
Thanks. I actually have a whole box of throated stuff that needs adjusting so I'm trying to work my way through it :)
❤ always here for more thrift flip content
Good thing as there's more to come!
For once youtube notified me before th Premier started rather than after it ended. Yay!

That's a great idea and I may just steal it!
Have you ever used those wooden darning looms !? I bought one, but found it a bit intimidating!!!!
No but I have seen them around. I think I'll have to try them out at some point
I just noticed this video! I don’t know how I missed it coming out. Congrats on taking years of footage and making a cohesive video!
Thanks so much!!

Oh that sounds like such a good idea! Ben's actually picked up sashiko recently and it's been quite a fun experiment!
