Thank you for sharing another of your books....all very interesting....hope you record some more in this series. x
Thank you for the free pattern! I'm very grateful for PDF/printed patterns that give suggestions for stitches and colors and leave it up to me to work on. This was a very informative video :)
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise. Embroidery is a new hobby for me and I love it!
Love that book too still have to read it through.
Thank you for allowing us another peak at your bookshelf, and a big thank you for the free pattern x
A wonderful book!
Wonderful!! Thank you for introducing us to the fantastic Book. I never would have known about it. Just found it on Amazon & ordered it right away :)
Honestly, I don't know how I found you Sarah in the chaos that UA-cam has become but I feel like I've discovered and absolute TREASURE TROVE - your Teaching Video's are incredibly helpful and Video's like these are so special to relax and listen to. Thank you again.
Thank you! X
I have this book and it's wonderful. Definitely one for your personal library.
AWESOME !!! Amazing lady and family ;) Thank you for sharing and the free design ;D
What a fascinating woman to have had her successes in varied fields. And on her own terms. Another great video Sarah, and thanks for sharing. (Psst... love your owls, and thanks too for that lovely little freebie)👏👏👏💜
What an interesting lady, so talented and her designs can still be appreciated today. I’ve heard of William Morris but didn’t realise his family had so much importance to his work. Thanks for sharing x
Ooh, Ooh, and Ooh again and cue a stampede to buy the book!. Absolutely delightful, and really love your version of the owl design too, thanks Sarah, you always inform and inspire, more please!
What an interesting book, no wonder you Sarah relate to it. I certainly enjoyed you relating the book and how things were done in the past. Not sure I would like someone to start off my work either.
My favorite rubric!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
I love the whole Arts & craft movement so this was fascinating. What an amazingly accomplished lady, such beautiful designs. Thank you for sharing your book & for your very generous pattern x
It's such a shame that many of us are very familiar with William Morris, but until now never knew about May and her talents. Superb info Sarah, interesting book. I think I may be asking Santa for it. Thankyou for informing us
I try not to but so many big books like this but this one sounds like it just might make the cut. Can’t wait to try this sweet design!
Ask the library to get it for you Wanda?
I was surprised to learn William had a wife that was strong and complicated embroidery! The book sounds fascinated to read and discover her original designs with vines, flowers and techniques with her works were so detailed. Thank you, Sarah, for showing this book and I’ll get some more to learn those how she accomplished her works and did those Victorian days. Its mind boggling !
Thank you Sarah. i read a book about William Morris last year, but didn't know about his daughter, so this was very interesting. :)
My heart started fluttering as soon as I read the caption. I did my dissertation on two Russian women artists who were active in the Russian variant of arts and crafts. They knew about Wm. Morris, but I couldn't trace whether they knew about May. At any rate, this episode was a total geek out moment for me! 😃 Thank you!
What a great connection! I think if they knew of William they must have known of May?
That was interesting. William Morris's name sounds familiar. I've never heard of May, her work is very intricate it seems like.
Thank you for sharing this is a wonderful piece of embroidery history and insight into the Morris family business. I share your passion for design and I love the little owl design you were inspired to create. It's always a pleasure to watch your videos, and I very much appreciate the links you provide to your previous videos and the to the books and resources presented.
Thank you for watching and supporting our channel Jacqueline!
Beautiful book love it definitely have to check this out
I love whimiscal owl art so this design is definitely one I want to make for myself. Thank you so much for sharing the design for us to use for personal use.
Thank you for introducing me to this very interesting lady, and for the cute owl design.
Thank you for the pattern. It is very Morris one but not so complicated!
Much simpler! :)
What an interesting video! Thank you, Sarah. I love William Morris and I love this video! ❤️
Thank you very much, so interesting.
Very interesting, thank you for sharing
Really interesting to hear more about May Morris and her work, very enjoyable video thank you for sharing with us.
How interesting Sarah - what an amazing book! Thank you so much for sharing and for the lovely free pattern.
Thanks!
Thank you Sarah! I actually own this book!😃
Do you have any embroidery books on your shelf you think I should see lori? I'm always open to suggestions!
Sarah, you are looking really cute today. I think your hair is a little longer. I like it.
I think it's about time for a cut Debbie but thank you!
I just participated in a mystery knit-along called Miss May! It's a beautiful shawl inspired by this legendary woman! I chose my colors based on the first wallpaper design you showed. Thanks for the review!
A mystery knit-along Raquel? How does that work?!
@@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery ahh it's so much fun! Every week (in this case 5) the designer gives you the instructions or clues. You have to decide without seeing the pattern what colors or color to use. You have to love the designer, otherwise, the final shawl may be something hideous. I love mine! I've seen the same thing with cross-stitch designers.
Great idea! Like pictionary with thread...:)
Are you alright, Sarah? The Winter stormy weather that affected your area was shown on the news. I'm saying prayers that you and you, your family and neighbors were not greatly affected. Pat-South Padre Island
Yes we are good thank you for asking Pat; the snow went as soon as it came. We did have a storm also that did alot of damage but missed us in Nottinghamshire
Good to hear you are safe. I hate storms. The make me as nervous as a cow with a buck toothed calf.
Sarah, I home you don't mind my swearing; that family photo looks like how I feel when friends take too long getting a photo of me. The entire family look like they're all thinking, "Just take the fucking photo!"
Ha ha!!! Maybe it was in the days when they had to sit still for 20 minutes waiting for the exposure?!
@@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery My guess the photographer was an amateur with a new Brownie camera and they were taking forever getting the framing right. I've had friends do that even after I already set up the shot. Makes me psycho! A slight exaggeration, but not by very much.
Yo quiero cómo lo compro
