I cheat... I put a piece of hose on the valve stem and then in the drill. I go on low speed, lifting the valve off the seat every couple seconds. Its a big time saver, especially when youre doing 4 valve heads!!!👍
I just run a battery powered drill on the valve not for speed but I can get a better pull down on the valve and a better grind and more evenly but if you do this make sure that you keep the drill straight so you don’t get one side uneven
Very nice Video. Do I need to keep The same value in the same place Before I start & end the whole time. Or just lap one and make Shure it goes back in its proper place. After I'm all done what's the best way to clean up the head before I reassemble it all back together Thank you for time. I really enjoyed your video.
We'll So Far so good I'm all most Done thanks for all you're help. I've got one more question. Now my motor is almost done do I need a break in oil now that I've got my whole top end done. Thanks for everything. 👍

Great idea. I still have a second head to do and I'm lazy, so I might just try it.

Great vid! Was going to do the same to mine until I found that one of the heads were cracked. Decided to order a new set already assembled.

Just keep it in the hole you lapped it in. I clean them up with brake cleaner spray.

It's a good idea to use at least a zinc additive when you break it in for the first hour or so of running.
@@YoshimoshiGarage ok thanks.
After I'm done leaping the head valve's is it a good idea to take a water hose to the whole head and wash them down to get the compound out? Thanks..👍
It won't hurt. You definitely want *all* of the lapping compound out.
1, 2, 3? What is this, a Ford engine?
Heresy!
