Same age here, man. Love the music of my generation but have to give it up for bands of other generations that rock, like P.O.D.

I saw P.O.D., Project 86 and Blindside at this church in St. Charles, MO called Mid Rivers Chapel back on June 2nd, 1999. All three of them were incredible, and Sonny was just hanging out in the crowd right behind me while Project 86 was doing their set, just chatting with people. The crowd wasn't huge, but me and my friends had a fantastic time. That was JUST BEFORE the "Nu-Metal" explosion that took over for the next 3-5 years, and it's weird and kind of cool to remember that and to think that the lead singer of probably one of the biggest and most successful bands of that era was just chilling and appreciating another great band with me, basically 10 feet away from where I was standing.

Alive is the first song that I've learned through guitar tab haha. Going to the bookstores looking for magazines for band interviews, updates and tabs. I still kept my P.o.d. shirt, CDs and magazine. This band still important for me

P.O.D. was so dope. I blast Alive, Youth of the Nation, and Goodbye for Now on a regular basis. I remember hearing Youth of the Nation the other day when I was coming home from the gas station or Subway the other day

POD was the biggest thing in the rock world when Alive came out!

Boom and Alive were the last tunes I listened to before I hit the football field. POD is still in my rotation.

dc talk crossed over with virgin records in 95. jesus freak hit mtv with help of simon maxwell who did many NIN videos. but their pop single was their biggest hit with exception of my friend so long. But POD has stayed in for the long haul. truly a success story

THe first half of the chorus in Alive is just 10/10 perfection imo the rest kinda messes it up. But i do still jam out to BOOM!
    Bo-Cha!

I don’t care what anyone says, When Angels and Serpents Dance is the high point of the band. Testify is right up there, and Satellite and Fundamental Elements of Southtown are not too far behind that. I actually got my best friend into POD pretty recently and he was like “Why didn’t I know these guys went so hard?!”

2:31 I mean, I got strung out on drugs and shit, but I never stopped listening to P.O.D.
Anytime I want a good cry I throw on Beautiful.
They have nothing but good records. They don’t have a single album that’s even average, they’re all good-great.

5:03 man, i was in Christian youth group.
I’ve also been in combat sports my entire life. I’m a little soft around the middle right now because of winter weight, but my elbows and knees are still plenty hard.
POD definitely broke down the door for heavier Christian music to get mainstream attention. They were definitely the first Christian band I wasn’t embarrassed to have playing through my speakers.
