  • My friend and I headed out to the Savannah River in hopes of getting on some stripers chasing mullet up the river. We timed it right and it turned into the best striper trip of my life. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Thanks for watching.

    Nice! I just started fishing the Savannah River a couple days ago near Jackson SC. I'm new to it and hope for some good ones like that.

      @@SClivingOutdoors thanks I haven't had a whole lot of a success thus far but I'm new to it so the more time I put out on the water I'm sure the better it'll get.

      @@TysonCapel23 They're there. I promise. Look for eddies where water coming out of the cuts meets faster water. You'll probably have better success in the spring and fall when the striper have run up the river to spawn. The mullet come up the river too and the striper follow them otw to spawn. Use live bait if all possible. If they are biting it really doesn't matter what kind of live bait.

      Didn't like the Deer killing, it says STRIPER FISHING , didn't thumbs down tho...just not happy I had to see that it should have been better Titled... some fishermen don't like hunting ya know... Good stuff otherwise 👍👍

    That was an exciting video to watch. I free line herring for bass similar to that but at the lake. Gonna have to put in at the river and give it a try.

    How did y'all catch the mullet? I'm up near Augusta, GA, the end of the road for the mullet/shad/striper because of the lock and dam.

    I’m visiting some friends in clarks hill area, McCormick sc. I’m here for 4 days. Are there any tips you guys can give me. Do these stripers get up this far inshore?

    • @SClivingOutdoors
      @SClivingOutdoors  2 роки тому +2

      Clarks hill has lots and lots of striper. I’ve caught a pile up around the dam and off all the points in that area.

      @@SClivingOutdoors I talked to a guide, he told me I couldn’t catch anything on land and that I should book him to get out to 60ft where they’re at. He sounded like he was just trying to get me to pay but I might try the dam tomorrow morning. Thanks

      @@angeloquintana8057 it is definitely better from a boat. But you can catch them from the dam People do it all the time.

    Just sad they are not fit to eat as that river is the 3rd most polluted river in the country and just below Augusta they still dump in raw waste water from Augusta even with a new multi. Million dollar waste water treatment plant ! Just sad as this could and should be a world class fishery.

      james oshields No way! I didn’t know that. Augusta is way up river, but I’m glad we didn’t keep any now!
