You asked how strong captains are compared to lieutenants, well, let's just say the general rule is, if the captain's out, the squad looses most of its strength. That's how strong captains are.
I think Captains make up like 80% or more of the squad's full strength. Mind you some Lieutenants are Captain level, but most Captains are actually way above the minimum to be considered Captain level in the first place.
@@saltyk9869 Well, it is explicitly stated by you know who (avoiding spoilers here), that with 6 captains unable to fight (you know why), it's like Soul Society's military strength is halved. While I agree with you that some lieutenants are captain level, and for some squadss it'd be 80%, let's be honnest during soul society arc it's closer to 99% or more for most squads.
For me its 95%. Even if the lieutenant got bankai (abarai)

Squad 1: 95-99% (debattable), Yama is a beast but we do not know much about Chojiro's abilities to be sure.
Squad 2: 98-99%, Omaeda isn't a very competent lieutenant but Soi Fon is in the weaker half of captains
Squad 3: 99% or more, Gin is a beast and Kira is a mid lieutenant
Squad 4: 99% or more for obvious reason
Squad 5: ∑(n=0)^∞〖9×10^(-n) 〗
Squad 6: 95%-97%, Renji did master bankai and is borderline captain level, but Byakuya had no trouble dealing with him
Squad 7: 90-95%, Komamura is in the weaker half of captains, while Iba is on par with shikai Ikkaku (see Squad 11)
Squad 8: more than 99% for obvious reasons
Squad 9: 95-98%, Hisagi is a pretty competent lieutenant and Tosen is (imo) the weakest captain in SS arc
Squad 10: 95-98%, Toshiro is immature, in the weaker half of captains (again, we're talking SS arc), and Rangiku is a strong and experienced lieutenant
Squad 11: interesting case, I'd say 80-85%, not only SS arc Kenpachi is in the weaker half among captains, in the same squad there's Ikkaku, which, if barely, is captain level, Yumichika, which is beyond lieutenant level, and Yachiru, which we do not know the extend of her power, other than the fact she's actually strong.
Squad 12: Another interesting case, because Mayuri hasn't yet invented most of the stuff that makes him a beast, while Nemu theoricaly already have all the abilities she displayed in tybw, as such, one could argue that while she doesn't show it, at that point in time she's actually stronger than Mayuri
Squad 13: 99% or more, we don't know much about Ukitake's abilities except that he's supposedly comparable to Kyoraku.

Yes. This is when a shonen show wasn't mainly about flexing powers and appearence. It was also about atmosphere, simple yet engaging intrigue and absolutly atmospheric remakable music (and actually likable characters) ❤

For me Bleach always was about characters.
To be fair, BLEACH has always been about flexing powers and this is exactly what they did in this arc, like most of Bleach's arcs.

It was also the other points i mentioned ( Hot take sorry : JJK did more flex on its powers and characters appearence to make them "fashionable teenagers" just because its cool. You can flex, but show me other stuff. Music, atmosphere, likable characters, engaging intrigue that you feel a minimum invested onto. JJK did all of this. But it felt all shallow because it wanted so bad to impress the viewers with nice move and cool attitude, etc).

5:49 It depends. Generally speaking lieutenants are no match for captains, but captains have to come from somewhere, and promotions need vacancies to happen, so there are some lower-ranked shinigami that are stronger than their ranks would imply, but this is pretty rare.

Its very bland in hueco mundo cuz its basically a purgatory. Some people drop the show here sadly cuz of lack of patience. But after some time shii gets real and some poeple missed out on peak.

This fight is one of my favorite fights in all of Bleach. Let me just put that out there.
The threat of a much stronger opponent that knows more than you, the conviction to give everything you have in order to overcome them, and the suspenseful pacing that keeps you hyped up on the edge of your seat, make for a devastating combination of story elements.

Still remember i had goosebumps when they first introduce kenpachi. Everything from design, VA, his whole demeanor just screams badass to me. He is also the first "villain" that i really like and dont mind getting more screen time.

I like one piece but for years now half the anime is just running, no anime is perfect and most had to watch fillers back when they were all releasing weekly. I believe thay can leave a sour taste versus say watching bleach minus fillers like most reactors today.

@@HaohmaruHL i mean, i watched hundreds of animes and Bleach is up there, especially now that the final arc is out, if they animate it properly it has a shot at competing for the best Shonen ever, even tho it's probably going to be 2nd, HxH quality is just too insane throught the whole series, it will probably remain the best shonen for eternity.
However Bleach and HxH do share the #1 spot for the best villain.

This is honestly a contender for Top 10 anime fights of all time. Kenny is just so brutal in this battle. And there's some great dialog and the story of the battle is intense. I don't think it's possible to watch this fight and not enjoy it.

When you realize Kenpachi basically nerfs himself as much as possible and still is as powerful as he is:
He's the only Captain-level soul reaper stuck with a base-form Zanpakuto and can't even use Shikai, let alone Bankai. He nerfs his own spiritual pressure with an eye-patch to make fighting more fun, and he wears bells in his hair to give away his position to opponents and give them a fighting advantage. Zaraki is an *absolute menace*

Ichigo is the type of character that grows from loss, meaning that each time he loses, whether to himself or a foreign opponent, he gets stronger from it, also you can't expect Chad to just miraculously defeat someone who have been honing his skills for centuries, it's different for Ichigo bcuz he's just HIM. Rip to Aizen, really wish I could've seen more of him bruh, he died too early in the anime, we didn't even get to see him fight.
