Just got a smoking deal on a 2000 KTM 300 it’s my first 2 stroke and I’ve watched your entire rebuild series, this is giving me the encouragement to go through mine and get it running/looking nice. Gonna get through all of these teardown parts and go start on mine later
Man, thank you! i just bought a 2008 sx 125, seized the crank bearing. im old, always wanted a bike and never owned one. Your series has empowered me to get after it. Great series!
Thanks you sir, get after it and knock it out of the park, you got this. Reach out with any questions, but I tried to be so thorough, good luck and enjoy the bike!
Hopefully you well Dan ,been catching up on videos I missed on the build, bike is looking so fresh man ,hopefully your exhaust fitment issues are sorted out by fmf ....I'm doing the the full motor re build have is stripped down ,your videos really helped me out with that Thanks a TON

Hi! I tried to unscrew the nut in the inner clutch hub with an air impact wrench holding the outer clutch hub with the same tool you were using but some of the teeth of the inner clutch hub broke and fell off and the nut was still screwed on, then I managed to unscrew it with a simple ratchet holding the outer clutch hub with the same tool as before but now without any broken teeth. I would like to ask you something. Do you think the air impact wrench is not the right tool for this type of work? because maybe it is not delicate as your impact wrench? Then I need to unscrew the nut on the primary gear and I don't want to do more damage so how do you recommend to unscrew it? I should try with the air impact wrench holding the primary gear with a hand? Thanks and sorry for the long message
I’m going to be totally honest, I’ve never broken the basket teeth before, I wonder if you cracked or messed it up when using the clutch holding tool? I’ve worked on bikes for 12+ years and made many mistakes but never had a hub failure at removal. As far as the use of an impact, I’m not using a pneumatic, and I’m not using a large drive impact. The bigger impacts will snap the teeth right off with the shear force of it. I use the M12 stuff because it hits hard enough to loose , but not break anything. Now a wrench works great, and is recommended if you don’t have the experience or correct impact. The primary gear with a gear jammer or a penny will pop right off no problem. The clutch basket however, you just take great care in removing, and I am comfortable with my specific impact to do so.
Hi mate I’ve got a ktm 125 sx 2005 I’ve got a washed with an insert nub on it any chance you could help me out and see if you could find out where it goes would be appreciated
Hey bro I changed the right side crank seal on my ktm, put it all back together and used a new inner clutch cover gasket and the dam thing is leaking... I can't figure out why. I cleaned the old gasket off really good, so I'm baffled as to why its leaking. You got any ideas?
Maybe pinched? Not sure, but those gaskets can move super easy when installing. Try using some yamabond or grease to hold it in place lightly. Hope you get it whooped. You got this!
Great Video! I’m about to do top end and clutch on my 2001 125sx pretty soon.
Sweet man, check that goofy shift stopper for issues while your in there. I like this engine so far, great engineering behind it. Thanks for watching!

Thanks man, I appreciate the love!
For anyone watching that washer is magnetic time is 18:02 for the part im talking about
Would it be possible to break the case apart without taking anything on the clutch side off
No sir, follow the order I tear it down and you’ll be just fine.
Can't believe how great the motor looks still !!!
Dude I know, I love it! Just wait till I get this thing together, you’ll love the outcome! Thanks for watching!

Do I need to take off the top end before I take off the inner clutch cover ?
Nope, it’s it’s own components, and everything can come off together on the inner cover.
Thank you very much my friend

What are the tolerances for the crank side play cause i cant find it

is it hard to keep track of were stuff goes back
I’ve done enough motors it’s pretty obvious how all of them work for me now. Takes time and experience. Thanks for watching!
What’s the bearing called that has split open, I have the same issue
Shift stopper, sucks you have the same issue!
@@DanMX2112 yeah noticed the bearing race stuck to the magnet bung, thankfully it didn’t annoy anything else
For sure, coulda been way worse!
what size flywheel puller did you end up using?
27mm x 1.0mm thread. Thanks for watching
Anyone knows if this 2004 engine is the same or compatible with 2003?
Nearly the exact same. I know there are some differences, but can’t remember off the top of my head exactly what they are.
Thanks 4 the info man!!!

Dónde puedo conseguir el Manual de taller de ese motor?
They updated that part because it was failing constantly I went through a few of them. The new design is just a solid roller that can't break anymore.
Ya I noticed the deference, and I don’t think we will have any issues with the new design at all. Thanks for the knowledge, I appreciate you watching!
@@DanMX2112is this the same engine like the 2006 125 exc?
@Tom-wl1mx it is exactly the same engine.
