Great stuff man I was taking antidepressants for 16 years and benzos for 12 years took me four tries each time was worse I’m finally free off everything now can’t even belive I got through it I’ve been making videos about this stuff too great message man it’s possible to heal!
Wow, that is great! I'm glad you pushed your self and got off the medications. I don't know much about benzo withdraw but I've heard it can be very rough. So the fact that you got off antidepressants and benzos is something to be proud of. You are absolutely right... it is possible to heal! Thanks for watching and good luck!
BillyThakid1221 hi bill, how are you? I’m sooo happy you are well so happy to here your better! For 2 months I was on antidepressants tried 6 different ones it was awful!! About 4 and a half weeks ago I stopped cold turkey I know it’s not the thing to do but I did I couldn’t put another pill in my mouth! Did you experience headaches, head pressure? Muscle spasms? Feeling of exhaustion? Any information would be appreciated
Marsha Greene yes I expierence fall of that stuff plus other stuff I was in 3 rehabs, hospitals , psycheward and 40 days in a detox. I made a lot of videos on it on my channel I have a playlist with a lot of my expierence and what I did you can check it out if you want. Hope your feeling better!
Honestly, what even are doctors? I’m currently going through this, and I am just STUNNED by the absolute negligence and (to be frank) idiocy and lack of compassion. They don’t get financial kickbacks from patients STOPPING medication, so they don’t give a shit.
The hiccup analogy was perfect! These zaps start to diminish after you stop completely. Tapering for me was useless. As soon as I stopped and let my body/mind return to its natural state ,then the progress kicked in. Dealing with myself as I am is much better than hoping a pill will do the work for me. It won’t.. i tried for 20+ years. My sobriety date is 6/30/2015. My “ chemical “ withdrawal is a little less than that. As bill w said exercise is healthy for your brain as is nutrition. Do it.
Useful and informative video. How are you now? Tapering ADS process may take 2-3 months. First reduce to just 1 medication of the lowest mg, then take alternate days, then thrice a week, twice a week and then taper off depending on how you feel. All react differently. To prevent side effects reduce negative thoughts and overthinking. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Observe your breath sensations when taking a walk, before sleep, at work, in the kitchen, when reading, etc. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Reduce negative social media, take morning sunlight walks and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.
I really appreciate you taking the time to post this video, it really gave me a lot of hope. I am over a month off of Sertraline (Zoloft) and the brain zaps, parathesis, facial tremors and mild headaches have been very scary. I have some good days and bad days, thank you again for taking the time to make this video as doctors provide little information regarding withdrawal and I myself have been searching the internet for answers

Great video. I am trying to wean off Remeron at this time. I too have had herniated discs in my neck and did have ACDF. I really think that can trigger anxiety and panic. My worst symptom is the fear of going crazy. Also the tinnitus is awful. I am so glad you are better.
Thanks for your comment! I hope you are doing well coming off Remeron, and I definitely understand what you mean about feeling like you are going crazy. Also I hope that your ACDF surgery was successful. I may need one in the future so its good to hear from people who have had it and are doing ok post surgery.
Hi, please don't be afraid of the ACDF surgery, it was the easiest surgery I have ever had. A little scary for the first 6 months because you feel all these tingles and numbness but that all passes at about 6 months. I have never had another minutes trouble from my neck. I do still feel like I am going crazy several times a day but I can usually bring myself back but it is hard. Hope you are doing well.
Darla Gosnell hi Darla how are you doing? I cold turked 4 and a half weeks ago I was on antidepressants for 2 months it was awful so I decided to stop, now I’m going through the horrible withdrawals, feeling like I’m going crazy, headaches, head pressure, muscle spasms... dizziness, lightheaded, just completely afraid my brain won’t heal I feel scared
@@marshagreene7926 I know that feeling all too well. It is terrible to feel like you are losing your mind. I am sure your brain will heal but I know how scary it is. Being dizzy and lightheaded is one of my triggers that can really send me down that dark tunnel of negative thinking. I am sure this will pass but not sure how long till it does. I am doing some better but still wake with the racing heart and feeling so afraid. I want to run but I don't know where I am running to or what I am running from. I am so sorry you are having so much trouble, I feel such compassion for anyone who is going through this. I hope and pray you will get better soon. '
No, I did not have blurred vision or stars. I have heard of that for people who have had concussions or head injuries but not specifically with an SSRI. The visual issues I had were flashes and floaters.
I belive it caused me to have floaters I still have them but slot of times I don’t noticed them I had blurring vision too I belive it’s from all the anxiety
My story is much different than most peoples and I am one of the worse cases. I was only on Lexapro 20mg for 2 months. That's it! I had gotten sick with strep throat around the time I stopped the poison cold turkey. At the time I thought my withdrawal symptoms were coming from my Penicillin so I did not reinstate until weeks later. I went on Effexor for 6 days. Got worse. Then they put me back on Lexapro 5mg along with Ativan. I stopped after a month and continued to get worse. Then they put me on Mirtazapine 15mg for a week. I stopped it because again it was making me worse. Then they forced me back on it 30mg along with Zyprexa. This was all in a 8 month time frame! They also had me on more antibiotcs for a bladder infection, sleeping meds, pain killers and so many other things! I am one of the worse cases ever because I am severely kindled!!!! Here's all my symptoms: Agoraphobia, dp/dr, severe anxiety, head pressure, dizziness, bad vision, cold chills, intrusive memories, dark suicidal thoughts, personality changes, ear ringing, ear pain, sore throat, terror and fear, paranoia, anger, anhedonia, poor circulation and crying spells. This is a result from being kindled. I'm still tapering the last drug and not sure if I will ever heal. It's been 10 months now.
@@marshagreene7926 Hello Marsha! I'm sorry you are going through a similar experience! First I want to say that most people heal from withdrawal! People are even saying I will heal and I am one of the worse cases out there. Your symptoms don't seem too bad and you are still very early out in your withdrawal. Keep track of your symptoms as time goes by so you can see improvements. Also, if you have moments where you feel like yourself, know this is a good sign and that you will recover. Those are called windows and waves are when you have the symptoms. Hang in there!
Windows and waves are all part of the healing process. Windows are when your symptoms die down and aren't as strong. It's where you feel more like yourself. They can last anywhere from seconds to hours and then eventually they will turn into days then weeks then months. And soon enough you will have a permanent window. Waves are when your symptoms are the most severe.
@@marshagreene7926 The waves are your withdrawal symptoms. For me currently I have extreme anxiety, anhedonia and tons of other mental symptoms. I also feel like my brain is in knots. But it's different for everyone. Just make sure you do not take any other drugs while you recover. Time is your healer.
Hi! I know it seems impossible when you are living through it, but you WILL get better. SSRI withdraw can be a slow and agonizing process but just focus on treating your body well (lots of water, healthy eating, exercise, avoid alcohol etc.) Do things that make you laugh like watching a comedy show on TV and just try to relax as much as possible. Overtime you'll see your withdraw symptoms fade away. You CAN do it!
Bill W HI thank you for doing this video! I was on antidepressants for only a month in a half due to bad panic attacks, my doctor had me try 6 different anti depressants due to side effects I was having, the way I felt on them was awful, I just stopped cold turkey 9 days ago, I couldn’t take it anymore the numbness, memory loss, feeling dizzy, lightheaded, I just need reassurance that all theses symptoms will pass over time. My biggest concern is, will my brain recover from all the antidepressants I’ve tried? Again I was on for about a month in a half .
