  • Peter Vaughan braves the winter weather to try the latest motorhome from Adria's budget brand, Sun Living. The S 72DL is a four-berth motorhome with rear single beds over a large garage and a drop-down double bed over the front parallel sofa lounge. It's based on the very latest Ford Transit, here with the new eight-speed automatic gearbox.

    Great review as always…… A very likeable van and I like the philosophy around features and price, few extras required! Happy Christmas all…..

    Very nice , I have a 2016 Sunliving lido M45SL which is very similar but has much better ready to use double forward facing passenger seats and is Ducato based

      You can still have that type of layout in the S 75SL but these parallel sofas are very popular at the moment

    When you get a gap in your reviewing schedule can you do a video showing us how you film your reviews and tell us about any embarrassing moments such as bending a review van or reversing over your camera gear?
    Have your team thought about doing site review videos? One of my favourite bits of MMM is reading about sites and we've had some great stay at sites we've discovered via the magazine.

      Worst moments are usually when the equipment fails (usually sound), or something goes wrong with the 'van. I had one fairly recently where the heating failed because the thermostat was too close to the oven (issue now resolved by the manufacturer)! Over the years I've had 'vans run out of fuel (despite not showing empty) and one where a pop-top decided to raise itself on the autobahn... One day, I might write a book...

      Have you seen the Sun Living range overview? ua-cam.com/video/eGUgFQ1S6MU/v-deo.html There's some footage of the island bed layout, but most of the 'van (except the bedroom) is the same as the single bed model. I actually think the 'DC' is the one to have.

    do these ford vans have a wet cam belt herd there are a lot of issues and double the price to change and more frequent also ?

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  Місяць тому

      Yes, it's a wet belt engine. The internet talk of troubles seems to be over-stated, as long as there are frequent oil changes with good quality oil

    It looks like a decent deal for the money, the inside reminds me of student accomodation.
    Looks like the dash is last gen Transit with new gen instruments and infotainment. I have a brand new Custom Crew cab and the interior is a different style, better design and more legroom.

      Yes, the actually dashboard is the same with new dgital instrument and bigger sat-nav screen. The Custom is an all-new van, the "big" Transit has just had a facelift.

    Too much messing about to set up driving seats in the lounge, what a shame. I always prefer lounge seating in an L shape.

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  Місяць тому

      Agreed, if you regularly need rear travel seats but these layouts sell mostly to couples who only occasionally need them for grandchildren

    Peter, please please please use a different lens!
    You can't tell me the fringing and chromatic aberration looks good. It's like watching something on 8 mm film.

      That is exactly what I noticed, it's very distracting and not at all pleasant viewing. It's so bad that I have to assume something went wrong with the mounting or settings. Don't think I ever seen a lens this bad.

      The travel seats, I assume you mean? If you need rear seatbelts on a regular basis, the S 75SL works better. If you rarely carry rear passengers, like many owners, then this gives a more open lounge
