Thanks to our dedicated supporters and global network of dedicated local partners, we have officially surpassed our two millionth cleft surgery. What an incredible way to celebrate our 25th year!
Hop on a bus in Jakarta, stay on it for hours past where the hustle of the concrete jungle gives way to the bristle of the vined jungle in Sumatra’s interior, and eventually you will reach a point where most of the roads are narrow, reedy rivers. Catch a speedboat there and stay on it for several hours more, buzzing through low marshes, flooded plains, and the occasional tiny home on mossy wooden stilts, and you will eventually arrive at the one Alim built for himself, his wife, and their five children.
