    This is the first quality call I've seen in months. Someone young making some cash and calling in to decided how best to make his money work for him. Not someone taking a loan to have that blow out wedding or someone having 200K in student debt in education then wants to be a SAHM.

      $70k is entry level for a welder. People highly underestimate the pay in the technical fields.

    Crazy, I’m 24 watching this and I did the exact same thing when I was 21. Everything Dave said is correct, I wasn’t prepared on the business side of things and learned everything the hard way. Three years later it’s smooth sailing, I’ve moved out, and have a 2 month back log of work but looking back it was the scariest decision of my life and is still the most stressful part of my life. I wouldn’t have it any other way though.

      I get that. With interest rates so low, money sitting in a savings account isn’t going to grow much. You might want to think about investing or setting up a plan that’ll give you more of a return

      I’ve been in the same boat. I want my savings to actually do something, but I’m not sure where to start. I hear about stocks, bonds, real estate-so many options, it’s overwhelming.

      That’s exactly why I talked to a financial planner, Nora Jean Erickson. She’s a Certified Financial Planner, and she helped me break it all down. Instead of feeling like I had to figure it all out on my own, she looked at my whole picture and recommended what made the most sense for my savings.

      Yes, she does. And she’s great at making it simple. My cousin met with her and ended up with a clear, easy-to-follow plan. It wasn’t about jumping into risky investments, but more about taking small steps to grow his money without stressing

      The thing about retiring young, is healthcare,
      I'm retired young and my cost is $600/mo, my former employer pays $1500/mo.
      $2100/mo total

    You don’t need to go to college to learn how to run a business. Talk to people that do, read books, watch videos, write your ideas down. You do the LITERAL same thing in college so save yourself 85K and skip that buddy.

    Awesome phone call! Way to go! Smart kid. If i could start over i'd have gone into the trades. Dad and grandpa are both plumbers, im 36 and an aerospace engineer, doing well with no student loan debt, but i'd still go back in time to become an electrician

    Excellent advice from Dave's sidekick. Research, research, research! He could essentially do it very slowly. Buy an old beater F350 or Chevy 2500. Do it part time or on the side, what and slowly transition if it seems promising.

      Some people make upper six figures yearly from investing alone. But it's always a good idea to work with a financial advisor. It raises your chance of profit by a lot.

      Having an investment advisor is the best approach to the stock market right now. I was going solo without much success until my wife introduced me to an advisor. I've achieved over 80% capital growth this year, excluding dividends.

      The answer what to do with the savings was to buy a “sufficient” truck (not an expensive nice looking one) and outfit it with the welding tools he needs to start his own business. (Once he has received a sufficient amount of mentoring and has read the book Dave is sending him)

    Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got to talking about investment and money. I started investing with $150k and in the first 2 months, my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and get more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.

    My advice to this kid would be to arick with the 100k a year and start dumping it all into high yield savings and investing it. Running a business is beyond stressful. Some times i wish id of stayed my hardhat and kept making 120k a year. I got sick of missing my kids life though and took a huge pay cut. I now have assets but only make anout 60k per year but all of the assets is only worth about 100k the business is young and sells about 800k per year. Some times less.

    Looks like the start of a common theme? Men are not going to a traditional college to learn woke-a-nomics and be shamed for their "xy" chromosomes and graduate with a degree in proper pronoun usage. They don't come out with 100-150k in student loan debt either.

      Depending on your experience, I would say IT is a great option. Or at least get a Business degree as it opens many doors. I hope that helps!
