I dont really hate Batarians. I feel more sad for them then anything else. Tbh they really get the shit stick of evolution. I mean yeah they can live anywhere and but only live around 20 years? Cmon, man. What u gonna do? Grab a gun try to make fortune and fun or go to school, learn ur craft to bite the dust 2 years into the job? If they were given like 30-40 years more life they would make excellent exploreres, could use the for other races toxic planets (huge resources) and have a thriving culture but naaah. Honestly, Kirrahe should've been a squadmate in 3. I felt like the trilogy finale kinda lacked diveristy in squadmates. Most of them were our friends we already got to know them thus we lacked a sense of discovery, learning more about the world and building a relationship. We got with Javik, yes but that was a DLC. With Kirrahe we would get all of that, a different look at the culture and structure of Salarians as well as Shepard finding kinship with someone knew altough someone he vaguely knows.
Him and Kal Reeger would have been good, Shepard needed soldiers at that point. I definitely agree though, one of the biggest letdowns of ME3 was the squad. There were so many wasted spots; Vega was meh all around, EDI was a waste in my opinion when she could have stayed as the ship and had the same development minus the Joker robot sex, the Virmire survivor was meh too. They could have used the slots better and Javik should have been central to the plot

I found her annoying who never shuts up at the worst times. Her rambling during the apt party was down right cringe to the point that poor Tali almost poisoned herself with cheese to shut her up. She is worse than Jacobs, he isn't annoying and easily forgettable. Her on the other hand every time I see her I wanted to kick her out the airlock. Kelly was better, no I never did anything, I waited for Tali and romanced her and her alone. Kelly wasn't annoying and she didn't felt like she belonged, almost naturally. The her on the other hand felt like she was placed there almost like an obligation or something like the shuttle guy.
1:38 I honestly think you're being monstrously unfair to Wiks, since he is *by far* the most interesting, compelling, and fun replacement character in ME3. Dude is as smart as Mordin while being a vastly different person, and you get to learn more about Mordin from talking to him. Wiks also shines light on the Genophage Modification Project and is interesting in being so committed to giving the Krogan a chance that he is impossible to sway from his desire to cure it, even if it's just Wreav and no Eve.
Kelly was the lady I got under to get over Ashley, Rahn at least gets D tier for her great voice actress. I love the Emily Wong returns mod to get rid of Allers but you missed Ogrinn, the Turian who kills the bartender who poisons you on Omega. His line of "I have a mate and a ship and only brought one to Omega" He is God level
can't believe i was lucky enough to discover this series right before you posted the latest installment--it's been so fun to watch! i love the way you use each of the presidents to represent different sects/schools of thought in the ME fanbase and use their banter to deliver these brief but well-considered character analyses. i also really appreciate that rather than regurgitating at face value some of the more superficial critiques that are made about a few characters, you use the presidents' different perspectives to commentate on that criticism and debate how well it really holds up. this series really demonstrates how well you know the games' lore and the general schools of thought throughout the mass effect "discourse". i'm sure bioware is already hard at work on whatever they've got cooking and maybe would prefer to create in a vacuum but they could stand to learn a lot about how the ME fanbase feels regarding these characters from your videos and their comments. hopefully these blow up within the mass effect youtube bubble! fantastic writing and looking forward to more in the future! 👍 praise jenkins🙏
Pretty good take on Khalisah al-Jilani actually and I sometimes feel like I'm on an island with this opinion. My first time playing I decked her of course but then I was like nah that's actually mad unprofessional, she comes off as abrasive but that doesn't help Shepard's public image. Now whenever I play through I go Paragon and you realize she is just trying to stand up for humanity and she's scared, and she ends up actually being pretty useful.
While the Jenkins part was actually funny. In Mass Effect 1, he actually had a good skill tree. Having skills in all weapons (pistols, shotguns, snipers, and assault rifles) just like Ashley. Combat Armor, Soldier, and much more. And honestly, I'm not going to lie to you, Jenkins seemed to actually have potential as a squad mate. He praises you in the beginning for whatever you did for your background, let's say Akuze for default male Shepard. And he was determined for the Eden Prime mission. Only to get shot down by a drone. And again, they gave us Ashley... with the same skill tree... I honestly wish we could've kept Jenkins while also saving Ashley potentially keeping them both as squad mates depending on choices. But you know bioware.

Dr. Michel is awesome! Dr. Chakwas doesn’t need to be dead in order for Michel to become the Normandy’s doctor though . All you have to do is reject Chakwas request to rejoin the team when you meet her in the hospital and then ask Michel to join. Chakwas then becomes a war asset. Personally, I never punched out al-Jilani in any of the 3 games and always preferred to show her up verbally instead of physically. Then just get her for more war assets. The Rachni Queen is another character I never changed my mind about. Saved her in 1 and saved her again in 3.

Of all the "bad" aliens, Batarians are my favorite. Perpetually stuck between a rock and a hard place and forced into extremes, they're a tough, hard, dastardly race. Their multiplayer character roles/classes are what makes me love them though. Batarian Enforcer Sentiel with Kishock Harpoon gun all day, baby!

Mass effect 3 was my first game in the series (I got it on sell.) n Baraka was the reason I fell in love with the Krogon. when I found out she died n I can save her by playing 2, u went and got the others. She is S TIER GOD LEVEL
Idk, I think may be one of the 10 ppl tht actually didn’t hate andromeda. Thts not to say I loved it but wth a couple tweaks it could have been a solid game. Development hell can really ruin something but what we got wasn’t a 0/10, imo it was a 5.5 or 6/10. Build up the main villain more, make the side quests a little more compelling and make some of the decisions a little more impactful and I think it could have jumped to a 7.5 or 8/10. The characters were pretty solid for 1 game, the worlds were pretty diverse and interesting, the combat was fun, fix the dumb bugs bc besides tht the graphics were pretty good for its time (besides facial expressions), the ability to develop the worlds was a nice mechanic but if they just took an extra step to make it all a little more impactful then it was would have made it way better. All I gotta say is EA tends to sink their claws into any big money opportunity and somehow make it worse.

Mass effect 3 was my first game in the series (I got it on sell.) n Baraka was the reason I fell in love with the Krogon. when I found out she died n I can save her by playing 2, u went and got the others. She is S TIER GOD LEVEL

Idk, I think may be one of the 10 ppl tht actually didn’t hate andromeda. Thts not to say I loved it but wth a couple tweaks it could have been a solid game. Development hell can really ruin something but what we got wasn’t a 0/10, imo it was a 5.5 or 6/10. Build up the main villain more, make the side quests a little more compelling and make some of the decisions a little more impactful and I think it could have jumped to a 7.5 or 8/10. The characters were pretty solid for 1 game, the worlds were pretty diverse and interesting, the combat was fun, fix the dumb bugs bc besides tht the graphics were pretty good for its time (besides facial expressions), the ability to develop the worlds was a nice mechanic but if they just took an extra step to make it all a little more impactful then it was would have made it way better. All I gotta say is EA tends to sink their claws into any big money opportunity and somehow make it worse.
gotta say, as much as I like these, Trump and Biden are FAR too articulate and thoughtful - and obama seems like he actually gives the mildest of fucks.
