Alexander Volkanovski vs. Islam Makhachev... Part One

More recently, on February 12, 2023, a landmark event took place at UFC 284 in Australia when the first and second lines of pound-for-pound fought. For the first time in the history of the organization, the best, regardless of the weight category in the UFC, entered the octagon against each other, the owner of the first line - Alexander Volkanovski, and the 2nd - Islam Makhachev. This has never happened before! The bout also generated huge interest as featherweight champion Volkanovski moved up to lightweight to try and become another double champion alongside Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Henry Cejudo. This is the second time in the history of the promotion that fighters have fought for the belt, each of which has more than 10 victories in one series. Makhachev has 11 of them, Volkanovski has 12. Let's see how the first defense of Islam Makhachev and Volkanovski's attempt to become a double champion and write himself into the history of MMA ended.

Volkanovski was worth a little bit more than what he ended up with imo points wise. He had a disadvantage in the height department. Good fight though
