The first time I tried the No. 7 Repo I was blown away by the flavors and ease of sipping on a glass of it. Everyone has their own taste and favorites, but this is my go to tequila when I really want to sit back and enjoy the moment. Great channel, Lui! Cheers!
Had the #7 and it was good but there are some almost half the cost that are just as good or better. Ocho, Tesoro, G4, Lalo, Mi Jenta and Cascuhuin all around $40 in my area.
I have not tried Cazcanes and will probably never buy a bottle since there are great, more affordable options like the ones mentioned by @LyJoyRuns. I even found still strength Fortaleza for less than Cazcanes; and my favorite blanco Volcano de mi Tierra.
Or arette. But this is way better than don julio, patron, and maybe even lalo and fortaleza. Fortaleza is now 100 bucks for the blanco in my area. Ridiculous!
Lui has yet to recommend a dud. That being said Cazcanes is definitely worth the hype. Fortaleza is my favorite tequila of all time. Cazcanes comes in second. Then I'd say from there G4, El Tesoro, Pasote, Volans all time for third. I have a bottle of the Cazcanes Blanco #7 but after that I'm going to try the Blanco #10. Loving the content, keep up the great work!
On another tasting UA-cam channel, they had problems with some bottles of Cazcanes having "cork taint" where the tequila tastes like rubber. So if you buy a bottle and it has a rubber flavor it has cork taint and is a production issue with the corks, not the actual tequila. Cazcanes have said they have resolved the issue, but just a fyi. I look forward to buying a couple bottles.
I was lucky enough to be able to purchase cazcanes from nom 1599. I got their single barrel extra anejo, their joven, still strength and then their mixed barrel extra anejo. Thankfully the prices were much different then so I still have some!
Lui I’m completely in agreement with you 100%. Watching your many tasting ranking videos, I bought my first Cazcamrs #7 Repo. I have had at least 40Tequilas. I have my own top fab five tequilas. But I will get right to the point on my review of Cazcanes Repo: Grand slam all the way. In my opinion, the Cazcanes Repo Is Totally worth its price!!! I do not agree with some of the nay sayers in their responses on here at all. There’s no comparison to Cazcanes #7 Repo to the lesser priced repos being mentioned. It’s sooooooo smooth with very minimal burn at the finish. I absolutely love it and is my new absolute fave. 💯🍸🍸🕺🎶❣️💯Btw, I tasted the Ocho repo vs the Cazscanes #7 and no contest or comparison, Cazcanes kicked ass!
You already convinced me to try them the last time you talked about them. I got a bottle of no. 10 Blanco. Yeah, it's pretty good. Makes a nice margarita.
I have only had the Blanco no10 but it has lost to almost all other overproof blancos in blind testing for me and my wife. G4 108, T8 Puntas, Fort SS, Fuenteseca, Arette 110. All these won in head to head tasting. Blanco no10 is very good but at $110 I just don't see buying it over others. G4 108 is my go to overproof as it is easily accessible in my area and can be had for $68. Tapatio 110 is also great as a mixer and is even cheaper at $55 for me.
Bought No 7 Anejo and and on the look out for No 10 Blanco. BTW, I also really enjoy El Tesoro Blanco and the Extra Anejo Bourbon barrel, thanks to you for taking about that brand. Love your channel, you are doing great stuff. Salute!
My local favorite store just recently started carrying Cazcanes. I really want to nab a bottle soon. They also started carrying Tres Agaves, picked up a bottle of the blanco, it’s delicious. Smells like salty, smoky butterscotch.
I have learned so much from you. I love that you highlight the additive free Tequila's. I eat clean, so I like to sip clean as well. So, thank you. Also...your curls are 🔥😍🙌🏾
Tried the No. 7 blanco at a bar near my workplace. It was very nice, lots of different notes to appreciate, and a lasting pleasant finish. A double shots worth in a glass was $14 there. Definitely well worth it to try such a nice tequila.
Been drinking Cazcanes for about 2 years now and absolutely love it. My favorite expression is the #9 repo single barrel I have from Nasa liqour but the #7 anejo and #10 blanco are a close second and third. The one expression I can NOT get behind is their #9 Joven. Not sure if its the malolactic funkiness that just turns me off but it is a bit too "cheesy" for me.
I have the No. 7 Reposado. My thoughts: It was extremely peppery on first open. Not the easiest sipper initially, but great in cocktails. It mellows out over time after opening. I get much more agave, citrus, and butter type notes now, but it still has plenty of spiced notes (pepper and cinnamon maybe), and ethanol especially on the nose. Overall, good agave and sweetens a bit as it mellows out with time, but still not the smoothest to go down.
Just recently started watching your videos and decided to try good tequila and mezcal. I pick up Del Maguey vida de muertos and Tequilla Ocho blanco. Looking forward to trying them. Want to try them neat and in Medicina Latina.
Excited to try this and the others you recommend! I’ve had everything from Cuervo to Clase, but Arrette is the best I’ve had so far. Found your channel looking for a review on it, and now have several new brands to sample. Thanks for all you do!!
May I ask you Lui, as a fellow New Englander and Tequila enthusiast; Please do a review on a couple additive free tequilas I've been seeing pop up allot lately. They're Don Roberto and 3 amigos. Curios where you would rate them.
Good expression of tequila, to me specifically the #10. 7 and 9 blancos are ok but not the next big thing. Price point is not there, you can get a g4 and even cascahuin Tahona Blanco for the same price. As for the repo.... sorry but it's more like a scotch and I would much rather just have a Macallan if that is the case. But that is just my opinion
Ik this is unrelated but what do you think of Novo Fogo's tanager cachaça? I tried it and it tastes really bitter like tree sap to me, I wanna like it (because I spent money on it, and it's a great brand) but I can't
Would love to try this but for the amount of blanco's / still strength blanco's I go through I can't justify paying $98 for blanco #7 (at my local Total Wine in NJ) Instead I go with Forteleza, Siete Leguas for under $55 & brands like Yeyo, G4, Lalo, Terralta & Mijenta for $40-45.00.
Cascanes is overpriced man. It’s good don’t get me wrong but it’s not worth the price tag. Ocho is way cheaper and just as amazing. Shit in my opinion Suerte tequila is the best bang for your buck. Ocho and tesoro are just as good as Cascanes and you don’t have to spend $100+

There’s a saying, “ a fool and his money will soon be gone!” I agree with all the responses that expressed that Cazcanes is soo overpriced! Tried it and Atanasio and can not justify the cost! These so called Ultra Premium products are way out of line on pricing. I’m a six digit earner and will not pay over $50 for a reposado and $65 for an Añejo. I live in Tucson and Tequila prices are crazy high at Total Wine, so I order in from California. I get Mala Vida repo at $40 and Añejo at $50 ( both fantastic and additive free). El Tequileno GR at $50 and $60 just today plus ordered in Juan Lobo Añejo (NOM 1414) at $50 and Insolito Añejo at $45. Arette Artisanal repo can be ordered at $45. Loved 123 Organic Tequila but the price has jumped $15 a bottle over the past year, so I moved on. Stay away from over priced so called “Ultra Premium” tequila. You can do yourself and wallet well by setting a ceiling to what you’re willing to pay for your tequila.

It's 'cork taint', look it up. Curiosity Public YT channel did a Cazcanes tasting and brought it up. In one of their newer videos they mention a Cazcanes rep reached out to them to give them newer bottles to try. I believe one of the three bottles they sent still had it.
