  • Goffs, CA is a former railroad town and stop along Route 66. In 1931, a more direct route was created between Needles and Essex. Goffs was formally known as Blake from 1893-1902. The town was named after Isaac Blake, the founder of the Nevada Southern Railway, which later became the California Eastern Railway.
The town's historic schoolhouse, built in 1914 , was restored by the Mojave Desert Heritage and Cultural Association (MDHCA). The schoolhouse and the grounds it sits on are home to a museum that showcases the area's mining history. Evidence of the old mining days can still be found in and around the town
During World War II the town was the site of Camp Goffs, a large US army depot and training center.

Там нужно проверять радиацию. Природу испортили взрывами атомных бомб.
