    Nice tribute to Commander Cody at the end. I know this was shot way before his passing. But nice to hear anyway. And the guitar looks freaking great. I don't use Nitro on my stuff, but you got it down, my man.

    Dude, I wish I’d thought of that way of storing screws!

      Yeah it’s a great trick, especially for projects with a bunch of different screws.

    great instructions. How would you go about doing a satin finish?

    • @AdamBeckSpeed
      @AdamBeckSpeed  Рік тому

      same way. Just use a satin clearcoat and stop there. Dont wet sand or buff.

      @@AdamBeckSpeed cool! Able to achieve I totally smooth satin finish using a spray can, if there's no sanding or buffing involved?

      Damn what if you already sanded and buffed it lol

    Your guitar says ‘guitarist’ but your forearms say ‘drummer’. In any case- great vid!

      Accurate. Played drums first at age 10, picked up guitar at 17.

    Really nice job, Beck.
    What was in the tube of stuff you used with the "better than Bondo" filler...some kind of activator?

    • @AdamBeckSpeed
      @AdamBeckSpeed  3 роки тому +1

      yeah its called "creme hardener" you use it in all types of body filler to harden - otherwise it'll stay goo forever. The stuff I used is called "Evercoat Rage" it's good stuff. All evercoat stuff is good. It sands nicely where Bondo is kind of sticky and clumps up.

    Hi, I've just re watched your video on refinishing the guitar body,I don't have 4000 grit paper to sand,can I use 5000 grit?

    • @AdamBeckSpeed
      @AdamBeckSpeed  2 роки тому

      Yes. You’re talking after paint and clear you can go as fine as you like. It may just take a little more elbow grease. BEFORE paint though, don’t go finer than 400.

    Hi, nice video.
    when I sand my guitar to take the paint off it make scratches what should i do?

    • @AdamBeckSpeed
      @AdamBeckSpeed  3 роки тому +1

      If you have scratches, you need to keep sanding with finer sandpaper. go all the way to 400 grit, like I outlined in the video at about 2:20 mark.

    You should have stripped off that nasty poly finish if you're gonna use nitrocellulose paint.
    Nice job all the same though.

    How do you make DIY WOOD primer ? ingredient ?

  • @jonnda

    Paint looks great, although the wire cutter use bothered me. I’d just unsolder everything that needed to be unsoldered. It doesn’t really take that much more time, and the results look more professional inside.

    how many coats the Stewmac and how long between coats?

    • @AdamBeckSpeed
      @AdamBeckSpeed  3 роки тому +1

      I just did coats of black until it was solid color and the clear until I ran out. I would say 2-3 coats of base (black) is plenty and I would do 2 cans of clear next time.

    • @mrhalvi

      10 to 12 coats with light sanding in between coats
