    I thought the art of this was to "move around the spheres" while keeping them in a completely stable position. I may be wrong, but the power of mesmerization that he is able to achieve is completely captivating. Much love, brotha. :)

    • @pyrpoi
      @pyrpoi Рік тому +6

      Is it an art when confined to prescription?
      My answer, sometimes, yes. Sonnets are still poems. I think similarly, when looking at juggling generally, or contact more specifically. Yet, even in contact, some people incorporate toss-juggling into a performance. I never got too deep into contact, but a quick wiki tells me that 'moving around the spheres' are 'isolation techniques.' I tend to like this lens a bit better. Isolations, even contact or toss juggling itself, are techniques or elements that can be incorporated into a performance.
      However, at some point there is divergence. I can't just put three balls in a pocket and call it juggling. It's not the use of techniques that put the ball in motion that had the purist in me up in arms, it were the parts where he incorporated stops. My old juggling friend's voice was shouting in my head. But, I'm not a purist. I liked the performance, and I'm happy to put it under some juggling or performance art umbrella. If I can stop playing piano for a measure, a juggler can stop a trick for a few tosses, a contact-juggler can stop, change direction of motion, transition.
      If you look at the performance as a series of techniques, there are several places where the performer does do solid 'isolations.' Though, the performance as a whole doesn't fall into these lines. Musicals are not Operas.

    Strikes a chord at something celestial. Hints at the sense of something noumenal. Brings into question geometry, beauty, aesthetics, even storytelling.

    I think it’s great that someone would dedicate themselves to being good at something, truly good at it, and not give up. Not many people have the inner fortitude to keep going when their pursuits become more difficult than they expected. This man serves as a constant reminder that we are all capable of doing what we really want
    ...if we truly want it. :)

    Usually when I see contact juggling, their movements aren't clean enough to fool my eye do to the fact that I have seen tutorials and videos all about it. I'm not trying to say that I can contact juggle. I can't. Though, his movements are very smooth and clean. It really looks like magic. Nice job!
